Fascinating bro! The battle of Castillon is such a pivotal yet underrated moment in history. Incredibly, this battle marked the end of England's involvement in the Hundred Years' War, effectively ending their ambitions in France. The use of artillery at Castillon set the stage for future warfare. Thank you bro for such a great video.

That's quite something. This battle changed how wars were fought with the use of artillery. Funny how Calais was in English hands during the reign of Mary Tudor (aka Bloody Mary). Their only possession on the continent was lost when she died.

Nothing ant-British here. battles were fought won and lost as they had been for 100 years. The concept of greedy kings to conquer France, in the end was really just a waste of life, fortune and time

Please correct me if Im wrong. Brittan invaded France. Got puntted out, yet Britain still had another town as theirs in France? Wow! Those were a lot of prisoners!
@rickeypayne17 күн бұрын
they did not invade france as when the duke of normandy invaded england his territory in france became part of his domain and all future kings and queens of england
@thierrym88753 күн бұрын
@@rickeypayne1as you said William the Conquer and all its descents became King of England thanks to victory on saxons in Britain but were also (and formerly) dukes of Normandy ( ie a vassal of French kings having to swear allegiance to French king for all territorial possessions granted in France). The problem raised when king of England was married with French princess , daughter of French king while all other sons of The French king died all. In the lecture of English inheritage system the Princess should become Queen of France as last child of the King (just like we had Queen Elizabeth 2 few years ago). The King of England was willing to see his son become King of France+ King of England). But in the French laws only male descent of King (a Prince) can become King. So the brother of the old King and his male descents became King of France while the King of England claim his son was supposed to be King of England AND King of France since the Princess , last child of initial king, was seen in England as legal Queen of France ... That 's how the hundred years war began...

Totally unrealistic. The artillery looks napoleonic. No battle outside at the beginning. The english attacking the french position and coud not make a breach. Exhausted and attacked by a cavalry unit on the flanck. They got beaten and routed. Peasants killing some of the retreating contingent

Typical anti-british bias in the media. Nary a mention of Agincourt, Poitiers or Crecy- the three most important battles in french history
@jeb14138 күн бұрын
These battles are always mentioned when someone talk about the 100 years war, Castillon, Patay and others French victories are often the ones being overshadowed and forgotten, if there is something the British are good at, it is cherry picking their battles.

@@jake-rg3fd Then you're totally delusional. When someone hear about the 100 years war, Agincourt will come to his mind, the anglo-saxons world made so much films depicting English victories at Agincourt or any others battles won by the English, Agincourt Crécy and Poitiers are far more famous than the French victories, don't be in denial you just saw a video talking about the end of the 100 years war, and you're mad about it, English battles wons are far more famous than French battles wons, you're totally delusional, the French can be the won complaining about this anglo saxon cherry picking, you're totally lost.
