probably already said this, but i love how Peter's jet boots are so clumsy. it's been established in iron man that with only feet propulsion, it's quite difficult to maintain balance while hovering, let along fly for real. it also show's peters pragmatic and underhanded approach to combat, since he uses the boots in unique ways to move in unexpected directions.
@Blueroflmao2 жыл бұрын
we frequently see him sliding along the ground and making quick flips, which makes perfect sense when you mention it like this. the only time he actually flies for a longer period of time is in space, where it would probably(?) be easier to fly with them.

In an interview, Pratt said that when filming, he kept saying "pew pew pew" when he shot his gun, which didn't actually have a sound effect until the editing stage of the movie. They had to retake some scenes that costed so much money so they could get the clips without Pratt's sound effects. But, just like with dropping the orb, they should have left this in. The title card is probably the most genius title card frame I've ever seen in a movie. The theatre I saw this in, as soon as that title card came up, so much laughter. That one title card with Chris Pratt in the distance below, and the music starting with it, basically set the tone for the entire movie and told you exactly what you're in for, and basically said "It's okay. Just sit back and relax and enjoy yourself-- you're gonna have a great time." And the irony of a giant "Guardians of the Galaxy" logo screaming *epic* while a tiny Chris Pratt dances below it simultaneously snarks at the pretense is brilliant. That said, about your nitpick of Chris Pratt in space.... it was established by Glenn Close at the end that he is half human and half something else-- which I won't spoil here for those who didn't see Vol. 2. So his surviving in space a few extra minutes works here. As for the ice crystals, I figured sweat on his skin icing up. He did have to exert himself in that pod battle. But I could be wrong on the science of that. By the way, I love your channel. Nice to hear great things about movies that we enjoy as opposed to the snarky cynical nitpicky stuff we see a lot.

This was the movie that got me into the MCU. I had seen the Iron Man movies, but I didn't know they were connected to a greater universe. I hadn't seen Thor, Hulk, Captain America, or even Avengers. I just heard about Guardians of the Galaxy and thought it looked like it would be the best thing ever, so I went on release day, and it was. I had to go see it again shortly after. It was then that I learnt about Thanos and Infinity Stones, and that these characters would eventually be meeting the Avengers, so of course I had to catch up on everything. Needless to say, I became hooked and have now seen every MCU movie *many* times each, and I'm so deep in the fandom, constantly watching MCU videos and reading about potential new movies and series, etc, and it all started with Guardians of the Galaxy.

The RPG gunners didn't fire when they were weightless because they would be fired in the opposite direction (equal and opposite reaction, per Newton). Never a good idea.
@hiyayakk07 жыл бұрын
RPG's don't have recoil because they fire a rocket. There is no explosion inside the barrel like a gun.
@sokandueler95787 жыл бұрын
Defac Diamond The rocket moves forward, ergo some force is applied to the rocket while in the barrel of the launcher, thus there is force to react to, thus there would be a reaction equal and opposite to the total force required to accelerate the rocket from 0 m/s to its muzzle velocity within the length of the barrel, and such a reaction, given the 0 G environment, would propel the guard back wards. Rpg's and rocket launchers don't SEEM to have that much recoil because alot of the force is expelled out the back, however, there is still substantial forward acceleration, thus some amount of force is involved giving rise to the equal and opposite reaction. further point: the recoil from a rifle (assuming that's what you were comparing to given your comment about explosions inside the barrel) is not due to the explosion itself. in a closed system, no single-sirectional recoil would be felt from an explosion, it is the expulsion of the gas and the bullet which causes the rifle/pistol to kick back.
@hiyayakk07 жыл бұрын
Ah thanks for the info!
@tyler_bt33267 жыл бұрын
Sokandueler95 however backblast launchers are intended to use...well...backblast to counter the force of the rocket. Maybe not equivalent, but enough that the movement in any given direction in 0G wouldn't be too extreme? I'm just speculating, I'm no expert on this matter of course

Prince of Asgard, king of Asgard, evil king of Asgard, evil super-villains, anti hero, hero and then finally dead hero... and then technically back to evil super villain.

133 for a really good continuity and atmosphere win. When Ronan is holding the Infinity stone and binds it to his giant hammer, which I presume is very heavy, he moves the hammer as opposed to the stone, indicating the stone is much, much heavier than the hammer.
