@stitches318
@stitches318 3 жыл бұрын
Thinking about having a baby when your younger than 30 is so stigmatized that half the women I know who had kids when they were younger did it through an accidental on purpose 'slip up.' Julia was being honest and got chewed out for it. Lots of women in their 20s want a baby, it's not unusual
@ragnar97
@ragnar97 3 жыл бұрын
@@stitches318 Thinking about having a baby when you can't afford a bed for yourself is moronic. If a friend of mine barely had money to eat and started talking about having babies I'd chew his or her ass off too. To the OP "she was excited about having a baby in the future", yeah, that's why she doesn't take the pill nor they use condoms. Pulling out is the way to go when you wanna make sure right? Please. And if you're gonna say "well they don't have money for that", more to my point, if they can't afford that they can't afford a kid. It's not rocket science.

They think he's on a ball and chain with me and from my experience if you don't nip that crap in the butt or at least stand up for your partner, the relationship fails miserably. What's really funny to me is she's Russian with crap American in laws and I'm American with crap Russian in laws. Luckily my husband isn't a child who can't stand up to his family and will openly defend me over them every single time.

It’s one thing for Brandon to not be ready for kids-but he shouldn’t have allowed his friends to overstep their boundaries ONCE AGAIN. He could have laughed off Julia’s comment and said “well we can talk about that later”. The way he responded, he acts as if Julia hadn’t been clear about wanting to start a life and have a family from the beginning. She didn’t leave her family to be free labor and a full-time bootycall, but that’s exactly how she’s being treated. She deserves better.

@Sahir Damani He has no balls. I dated a guy like that once. His dad was an ass, like, I was so quiet and always polite and kind to his parents. I honestly thought they liked me, but apparently they were talking shit about me when I wasn't around. His dad would get on my case about stupid shit. One time he was flipping out on me because i like Chicago pizza more than New York. Like, it'd be one thing to make a joke, but he'd just go on and on and on as if he was really pissed that I liked Chicago pizza and just making me feel like shit about it. My boyfriend said NOTHING. And I was just sitting there with a grown man yelling at me, and I was like "Well, I don't know what to tell you. I like Chicago pizza," like, I had to speak for myself because my boyfriend just sat there and did nothing. Then his dad would get pissy and say that I was talking back to him....for defending myself...for like Chicago pizza. Omg it was so friggin stupid. And looking back, I'm like, my boyfriend if he was an actual man should have been like "dad...stfu...she likes Chicago pizza." I think overly aggressive fathers tend to shame their sons from questioning or countering them, so they end up creating sons with no backbone, sons who will never question anyone or call them out, and who are just constantly afraid of confrontation.

I completely understand what it’s like to have parents who guilt you anytime you try to move on with your life. The guilt they are able to instill in you is astounding- some people will just say “well don’t listen to them and just do what you want to do” - I really wish I could do that. It’s so difficult in some families Also Brandon is the worst

Is the dad is saying Julia is such a strong manipulator that Brandon can’t resist, or that Brandon is so weak willed that even a suggestion he do something his parents don’t approve of is considered “manipulation”? All this complaining about him as if they didn’t raise him that way. How dare Julia say exactly what she wants in her life? How can Brandon predict what she was expecting if she’s only going to say it very clearly and repeatedly? He is infuriating.

I can relate deeply with the parental situation. I'm 26 with a 22 year old sister and they refuse to be happy about us moving out. I have a disability and my sister is caring for my monetary needs but she is able. She is learning how to drive jsut now because my father refused to teach her. They didn't want us to get credit cards or a bank account and tried to shelter us as much as possible so we'd stay. It's disgusting and what this does to your child's mind while they are taking steps to be independant can be horrific and then actively blocking their path when they try.....

IF she knew it was something he didn't want she shouldn't have brought it up in front of everyone knowing it was a touchy issue, if she DIDN'T know, that's a shitty way to find out the person you've married + moved across the world for doesn't have the same life goals as you. But her saying her plans for there future isn't something to shut down he could have said yeah when the time comes. Not to mention the worst time to bring up that “I’m not ready for kids” is in front of people. It is hard to speak a different language, you cannot express yourself fully the way that you're able to in your mother tongue (unless you learned as a child or have been practicing for years). You sound less intelligent in the second language since you have a limited vocabulary and grammar, people sometimes assume that you are simple, it is incredibly annoying.
