Respect to each and everyone of those workers. Just imagine how many blows of a hammer does it take to cut a barrel up like that, and a damaged barrel at that.. I would find it hard to get someone to cut a barrel with an angle grinder.. Then the use of oil residue as a fuel for the fire to burn off the paint, nothing wasted.. Credit to all involved..

I was confused by the guy wearing gloves in the first couple of minutes. I almost thought they DID have some safety precautions, but they are probably offset by the same guy working barefoot. Those are the workers’ safety videos I’ve learned to love. EDIT: I especially loved the bit where they burn down whatever toxic and possibly deadly residue from inside the barrels on an open flame a yard away from where they are working, then happily scrape it to the ground, the same ground they walk on barefoot.

The people who are producing grief are the employers. They are making money. Will they kick in for shoes or eye protection for workers? Injuries and infections will disable a man and put his family at risk. No workers comp, no unemployment pay, no insurance. A lot of blame to go around.

I am always amazed at how these people take old used items are make new things out of them without all the fancy equipment many countries have. I do wish they were made to wear shoes while working around sharp items I always worry they are going to have a serious injury due to the lack of proper shoes and safety equipment. I do love seeing what they make.

As someone watching from the US: • It’s great to see everyone doing their own job so well and working with the team • Each person having a specialty skill helps make the job more efficient • Your doing great reusing and repurposing materials - we tend to just throw away in the US • The safety practices used in place are a bit basic alarming. Open toed shoes and no PPE other than a few wearing gloves??? • Thanks for sharing - please stay safe

This is how things get done in non Democrat states. 😅😊 I see the guy with the power hammer is obviously cold working the steel. It could be 304 or 316 steel or carbon steel. I thought they would use plain old low or no carbon steel for non food grade drums. I am guessing the 'carbon steel' is AISI 1018 or ASTM A36. Who knows what is used overseas though. Its got to be cheap and standard.
