@mplsmark2228 күн бұрын
It interesting, it shows a printer marking the pipe as PVC, but you don’t get Poly Vinyl Chloride by melting polyethylene and dyeing it.
@bigvinny3336 күн бұрын
It's very easy to test for PVC. You just take a loop of copper wire, heat it till it glows. Push the glowing wire onto the polymer material and pull it off again. Place the copper loop in a flame, and if the flame glows green it shows the presence of copper chloride, hence identifying PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride). Here we appear to have PET so there will be no green flame !

It’s great that they are recycling those massive amounts of plastic and saving them from landfills. These guys work long hours for little money, shame on their employers who don’t provide better working conditions or even basic safety equipment such as masks, safety hats etc. N.B… recycled plastics can and are being used to produce new PVC products and other plastic products. PVC is a polymer of plastic and can be used in the process of manufacturing all sorts of rigid or foam pvc and plastic products. The white chopped up plastic is actually chopped up recycled PVC. When mixed with the chopped up recycled plastic its used to make PVC pipes and other products
