Great video, glad I found your channel! I am still in the building process of mine, but some great ideas for when I weather mine. This is the first legion (Alpha Legion) I have started to use weathering. Thanks

This is a good test. I'm not worried about the swap over when I run out. I think I'm gonna test out Vallejo's washes first though and see if I can get away with them.

Yeah, I was impressed with the Vallejo stuff. It worked well and was definitely more affordable. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Been hoping for an updated chaos tank for a while. But these new HH tanks would make for a really fun heretical conversion. Enjoying these videos

Hi Jon, I am watching this series again, and you mention Vallejo Flat black, for dry brushing gun barrels. What is the paint number, I can not seem to find that color. By the way, the stipple effect sure looks great, thank you for providing the perspective.
@JonBius27 күн бұрын
Hey John! I always call it "Flat Black", but it's actually just Black. It's 70.950. I love the stipple application myself. It's so easy, fun, and yields great results! Happy day to y'all!

@@JonBius Hi Jon, excellent!! I have that paint. I am stippling the camo color onto the demolisher now. It seems to be going well. I am using a small 1/4" round brush to do a light stipple at the edges and more at the center. My hope is that the camo stripe will have a weathered faded look. Actually building the Demolisher I am learning so much. Thank you very much.

Nicely done Jon, very believable model. I checked the price and I think I'll need to go to the freeway to collect cans before I could buy it 😁

Hello Jon! Im painting a plagueburst crawler and im trying to make it look like my army is actively pushing through a swamp. What kind of paints do you recommend i use to give a more wet look to the muddy areas you showed in this video? And do you have any videos that might help me with this kind of weathering? Thank you!
@JonBius4 ай бұрын
Any color is fine if it goes with your swamp theme. I'd recommend adding some gloss coat over it - maybe not complete coverage, but in various places. Mud has various stages - glossy is wet, matte is dry, lighter color is crumbly dirt and dust. So taking that into account will help sell the notion of fresh mud. I have a playlist of all my weathering videos: kzbin.info/aero/PLZt56FNuWOKfHs6gaqKR2V-g2nq1B7DZM Here's some that may be useful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bImXmYN6ZZ2mY6s kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppWseGWZfZKNoaM HTH! I really like the way you did the tracks. Do you think this would work for military tank tracks? If so would you vary anything?
@JonBius2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Absolutely - it would work well on military tracks. I basically copied methods I'd used in the past for military vehicles! In my own work, I vary things all the time. My modeling is less "set procedure" and more like "ongoing experiments". So the method I show here works nicely, but I'll vary it the next time a bit, just to see what happens. But if you like the way it looks, go with it. Then as you get familiar with it, you can look for your own ways to improve it, or modify it for particular needs. (Sand, mud, snow, etc.) I hope that helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@JonBius One more question. I have seen you and other KZbin modelers use Wilder products. Where can these be purchased from? I have googled searched and everywhere seems to be sold out or no longer carrying them. I thought either they were no longer making these or maybe it was a shipping issue.
@JonBius2 жыл бұрын
@@joshuamurphy4928 They're no longer being made unfortunately. Occasionally you can find them on Ebay, but they're pretty much gone. I wish I'd purchased more of that textured earth for sure!
@joshuamurphy49282 жыл бұрын
@@JonBius That is a shame. Seemed to be really popular and worked well. Guess they will just have to be remembered fondly the same way Pledge floor polish was. At least I have 2 full bottles of that. LOL.
