Great video Jim! I can really appreciate the editing that goes into these videos. I just started a channel and have made a couple of flying videos with music + ATC audio. I just want to thank you for inspiring me. I saw a video you posted a couple of years ago. And you said if you want to become a pilot. “Just go do it!” I went to the airport the next day and took a discovery flight. Got my license in 40.3 hrs. I’m in love with aviation and can’t wait to make a career of it. Thanks again!

I have a great story; similar to your final approach (120 kts Vs 60 kts) scenario but just the opposite. In May of 1986 I was returning to my home base airport (PTK) after nearly completing my last solo cross country: PTK - TVC - JXN - PTK. Five miles out I reported in with the current ATIS information. Coming from JXN with winds out of the East I was informed to expect a straight in approach for runway 9R. When I was 2 miles out the controller cautioned me for the possibility of wake turbulence from a corporate jet that was on short final for 9R. Right before leaving my flight school I was told that Lee Iacocca was on that jet. He's still alive at 94. In case you didn't know this Chuck Yeager is still with us at 96. Thought I'd just throw that in as a FYI =)

Another great video. As an ATC instructor I told my students not to bother saying " resume normal speed" when they are on final. The pilot is not going to retrim the aircraft to increase speed! Also, be careful what you ask for when requesting pilot to reduce as much as practical. Especially with a citation, PC12, Etc. It may be more than you want, causing too much compression behind that aircraft!

I wish that if a video was shot months ago that a date would help out the weather going on. I have the same weather as your home and it is in the 70's. I was watching a sailing video last week. It was mid Nov. I thought you had to do a go around. Years ago I was at the CVG watching planes. It was so windy that the only runway was the East to West.for take off and landing. They was a 747 moving to me very slow to take off. Another plane was landing. He had to do a go around. First he went right toward the control tower then made a sharp left right in front of that 747. Well That was to much for me. I went home. KEEP SAFE
