Some of the most exciting news for console and unmodded players are all of the changes to traffic AI coming to Cities Skylines II. Let's talk about it.

I never really check traffic (i never build big enough cities for that XD), but I looove these small attentions to detail!

Still no content directly showcasing console though folks... Can only trust we will see the exact same code.

They have confirmed that they are on hands with both the pc and console versions so the code will not be the exact same but it will be closest possible

Game gonna be a slideshow on consoles. Good luck keeping 30FPS when your city gets big.

Lucky you, I just remembered number 4 on my wishlist in case it wasn't already long enough. I want to be able to choose if my map spawns with trees and rocks or not!

I am excited for better emergency services. for example in CS the cop car may travel from one side of the city to the other side to respond to a call even though there is a police station right next door. In CS2, you can set district restrictions so the cop will only patrol in the district you designate. I think this will apply to all services....

I play on console so no mods for me. I really hope you can allocate a road as a bypass

If the road is faster then they will use it, if you're building a bypass make sure it's using something like 2 way highway and then the cims use it fine in my experience

I love the idea - sort of. Active, continually changing pathfinding. It will be interesting to see it in action. I just hope it doesn't curtail city designs. I like trying to build small, twisty road, European style cities with old world charm. I fear that if the AI isn't evolved enough the only solution to traffic is an American style grid with masses of parking lots which rather hampers some city design styles.

I will be extremely disappointed if not as they have said it should be same base game. That would be especially bad considering they are accepting preorders, so not revealing this would be so bad.

You won't be saying that when all this stuff drops your CPU under 30FPS .... Game gonna run bad on consoles

@@HyperBlueWolf that's why I feel console will have a smaller version of the game. But the developers have not mentioned that fact. They released the trailer on the Xbox showcase. But maybe this is the console version and the CPU version will have added features that haven't been revealed.

I guess I'll have to start putting a budget for roads lol in CS, I always take it to 0%, but now with weather, it's probably important... Maybe 😈

I'm hoping like crazy that the game is improved for console. I've all but given up playing on console because it is horrendous at times. Everyone keeps putting out their wish lists for CS2. Here's mine: 1 For the love of everything PLEASE stop putting out maps that have major highway infrastructure stuck between 2 tiles! This has happened to me multiple times. I start a city, envision how I want to proceed only to discover I either have to buy a tile I don't want OR find a way to ignore the fact I have a useless bit of highway I can't change. 2 Stop claiming in map view that a map has all the amenities when in fact it does not because, for example, if I want shipping I have to buy that 1 tile that is 20 tiles away from the starter tile. 3 I've also started a map and discovered that off in the distance the highway isn't connected in a spot so to keep that map going, I have to buy that tile OR find a way to ignore the constantly flashing T in the distance. That's my wishlist.
