What does it take to be the most dominant hurdler in the world?
Grant Holloway has cemented himself as the best 110m hurdler in the world for the past five years. He was an eight-time NCAA champion at the University of Florida before turning professional and signing with adidas. Since then, he’s won three world championship gold medals and an Olympic silver medal. His personal best of 12.81s for the 110m hurdles is the second-fastest in history by just .01 seconds.
We paid a visit to Gainesville, Florida to watch what it takes to be the world’s best + how to mentally and physically prepare for challenges to stay on top.
At next month’s world championships in Budapest, he will look to become the third man in history to win at least three world championship gold medals in the event. He has a bye secured as the reigning champion. His title defense begins on Saturday at 8:37 p.m. ET with the first round of the men’s 110m hurdles at the U.S. Championships.

But he’s not a 100m flat runner and he’s not in the top 4 100m flat runners in the USA id he was going to run it why would he be selected?

@@anthonyjoshua1603 He a NCAA championship in the 60 meters indoors with a very respectable time of 6.50 having not even previously run the event and ran on Florida's 37 sec championship 4x1. And you don't think he could run on the US team at least through the rounds when they're only running 9.9 😂 btw they take the top 6-8 for a relay pool. The same 4 guys don't run all the rounds

@underwoodtav8565 No not really, I understand how one might think so because there has never been a 110 hurdler who was on a NCAA champion 4x1 that ran as fast as the USA red and blue teams and 60m champ. But to say that would be to say Rai Benjamin has to run an open 400 to be on the 4x4, or Athing Mu has to run an open 400 in order to run the 4x4 and we no that's not the case because not only were they on it in the last olymics but both ran the fastest legs as non 400m flat runners perse. But the reason I mentioned it is because Grant had expressed interest in it in the past but gets overlooked due to politics I suspect, because it's certainly not ability or a rule against it
