As a side note, if anyone wanted to know what they mean when they say “I’m your holocaust,” a holocaust is a sacrifice, which used to be burned completely at the altar. Hopefully that sheds some light on the meaning of this verse for those unaware. They way I interpret it is them saying “I’m your sacrifice” but also hinting at cremation.

Growing up I wish I had found a band like this. It seemed the world around me was full of the frivolous and popular and beautiful shitheads. Bullied, I was invisible to my classmates. Persona non grata. I fought back against my tormentors. I was outnumbered. This was before Columbine. While I don't condone what they did, I certainly walked in their shoes. You guys remind there are good people out there. While I still come across racists and the ignorant, I don't feel I'm alone against their vile kind of evil. Over the years my hatred for them has given way to pity. I hope one day they discover love in their hearts and realize we're in this together. Peace.

I wish I found this while I was in high school. I never wanted anything related to suicide, I wanted to die by someone else's hand. When I wanted to die, I wanted to die doing something meaningful for someone else. I hated myself to the point of seeing myself as nothing but a demon in human skin. I thought I wasn't worth the effort of being taken care of by my family, so if I gave my life in sacrifice, my death would've meant something and people could just forget about the utter flaw I was. Being high functioning autistic and knowing how people treated people with autism in the past, I saw myself as a defect that people would lobotomize and throw into a cage in a second. I was also self abusive to the point that I thought I deserved to carry the pain of everyone's mistakes including my own.

This comment made me shed a few tears because i know how you feel like a demon in human skin and a mistake in life because for one i was a mistake i was a broken condom and failed birth control and then when i was born my dad was never there and as i grew up i noticed i looked alot like him and my mom was more affectionate towards my little brother and that she almost was scared of me and then i fell away from religion and my family is all Christians so that didn't help so they despised me for that and didn't want me near my other family and there kids and then i got into metal music that definitely didn't help because they see it as the devil's music and well through that it was heartbreak for being called weird looking because im not a good looking guy so that broke my confidence and then it became bullying for it and laughed at even my closest freinds bullied me and stabbed me in the back so i grew anger and hatred to everyone and everything but definitely towards myself because i felt i was born a mistake a waste of oxygen and resources and i wanted so badly to enlist in the u.s marines and serve my country or die trying in hope that they would say i was a great person but i was diagnosed with mental issues like severe depression bi polar and suicidal thoughts and you can't enlist with those problems because they cant trust you with a gun but now i have a beautiful girlfriend who loves me for me not my looks not my past or my mistakes or flaws so just know it gets better it may not seem like it but it does so stay fighting because you may not feel important to your family or the people around you but there's always the one that your fates will intertwine and youll fall for them and them you and happiness will be true and youll forget the past and bury it and revive the present and work on the future so stay strong 👍

yep getting called a monster despite doing nothing but trying to help everyone around you, only for them to abandon you and lie about you after. i've been called "insane, horrible person" all sorts of things. no one ever takes the time to fully understand someone going through this. they just want to pass it off as a "bad person" not take the time to understand. thats why i only believe those who have suffered the same ways are the only ones who can understand those people. god knows i've met a lot of those very people "i'm a horrible person, i've done things that i cant take back, i deserve to suffer" all they need is someone to stick by them for both good and bad. and not just leave the first sign of bad.

This is song reminds me of all the stuff I had to deal with growing up. How I keep making myself continue on anyways, even when nobody know me really. The song reminds me of that drive I used back then. Thankfully, I don't have to deal with that stuff anymore.

Such an awesome, inspirational and very emotional song. Just gives you that feeling that fame won't last forever and it doesn't make you fully happy. True happiness comes from the experiances you gathered from your past experiances and learn from those experiances so you could do better in your own future and do your best to inspire other people from doing actions that makes other people appreciate your efforts no matter how painfull the journey is. I hope someday an album of your amazing songs will be available at some point. Love your music Citizen Soldier. :)

I have some disappointment and resentment towards my family. They didn't understand why I was depressed. I silently battled it throughout high school and decided to tell them my senior year a decade ago. They asked. "Why?" That made me feel like shit. Like they didn't care or understood what I was going through. That moment I knew not to tell them about my depression or suicidal thoughts anymore. They didn't understand then and won't understand it now.

@@CitizenSoldier Once in my life I thought that I will never have friends because nobody from my school listened to me and that I was going to be there. Only my family listened to me when I heard this song and now I feel better because thanks to your help and my family I managed to overcome it and from now on I will continue without fear thanks to you
