Is depression a writer thing or is writing a depression thing? Because I'm the same. I just can't seem to produce a happy ending.
@rayrayfc14 жыл бұрын
@@Stolen_Rose writing is generally about how you are feeling so if you are depressed, you feel more of the same kind of emotions, so you are more likely to right those down making more pieces of literature dark and depressing so I think it's more that people with depression have to fight emotions and dissect them through any way possible, I turned to writing poetry and music, you turned to writing and music as well, everyone has something that will help them through it, and everyone deserves to feel okay, if u end up reading this keep on writing! Write what's true for you not what other people want to hear, it's your life, your story, don't feel like you are 'different' for feeling depressed, if you feel like you need help then seek it but never degrade yourself, never blame yourself, I can assure whatever made you feel this way wasn't your fault no matter how much it can feel like that, good luck in life amd your next piece of writing tho, sure it'll be great.

Man the line of “I’m feeling dead inside but I’m too afraid to die” just nails the feeling exactly. Thank you for the music you post! Just the fact that it speaks so accurately to mine and others’ situations I think gives a sense that you’re not truly alone and someone else knows how you feel even when you’re too afraid to talk to anyone about it. "Im feeling dead inside but im too afraid to die" Honestly, its pathetic how much I relate to that line, I've debated ending my life so many times, I've even made plans for it, but I always back out of pure fear. Thank you Citizen Soldier, thank you for making songs that are so accurate to how my own situation and how others feel. It makes me (and im sure others) feel that we're not alone, expecially during the chaos thats happening currently in the world. You guys are an amazing band. Thank you. "I dont feel at all how I did when I was young" Is a line, that is just as powerful and relatable. As a child your carefree without truely understanding everything that's 'bad' about the world, but as we grow older, nobody tells us how much everything changes that nothing is like the childish fantasys of dragons and princesses, Instead its cruel with violence and heartache and agony that hits you like a truck.

Dude I know what you mean. I was bullied almost my entire childhood by the kids I went to school with 🤷♀️ I was different and they could sense that. I got transferred to a different school for a year due to family reasons before being transferred back... if I had stayed, my life would have turned out so much different. There was one moment where I actually took a rope out to the back yard and sat up in a tree contemplating hanging myself. My aunt walked out on me up there but I'm so good at hiding shit she never suspected. I backed out at the last second. It was a shitty weak tree so the branch probably wouldn't have held my weight anyways, that thing was so dead from getting hit by lighting.

A lot of people deal with their own inner demons and I'm no different. when I was 8 I lost my best friend in a house fire on Christmas eve, 3 years later I lost my great grandparents, when I was 14 I lost my grandfather and a great aunt at 15, at 17 I lost an uncle to homicide, I thought that in order to end all of the pain left behind from that I had to end myself and I actually tried a few times, I've been battling my inner demons for a while and I don't think my battle is done yet but Citizen Soldier is helping me get through it. Thank you and keep up the amazing work!!!

Looking for something that is real I can't remember how to feel The moments pass before my eyes Make it hard to say goodbye Staring straight into the sun Life pouring from my hands like dust Empty heart and jet black lungs What have I become I don't feel at all Like I did when I was young I'm feeling dead inside (dead inside) But I'm too afraid to die And I despise This world I see through blood shot eyes I look up to the sky (to the sky) And fall asleep To gunshot lullabies Lullabies And though it seems I've sealed my fate My life's a canvas I will paint An image of myself I hate But can anyone relate In the midst of life and death Living under this regret If I give up will I find rest 'Cause I haven't found it yet I don't feel at all Like I did when I was young I'm feeling dead inside (dead inside) But I'm too afraid to die And I despise The world I see through blood shot eyes I look up to the sky (to the sky) And fall asleep To gunshot lullabies Lullabies I'd like to speak of love and all it's glory Instead I write it out in sadder stories I try to fill the void with Anything at all But I can't I don't feel at all Like I did when I was young I'm feeling dead inside I don't feel at all Like I did when I was young I'm feeling dead inside (dead inside) But I'm too afraid to die And I despise The world I see through blood shot eyes I look up to the sky (to the sky) And fall asleep To gunshot lullabies Lullabies To gunshot lullabies Lullabies

@@CitizenSoldier I found your channel by accident about 2 weeks ago and I have fallen in love with your music. I struggle with undiagnosed anxiety and depression, and I've been through so much in the past few years. I relate so much to your music and I appreciate that. You put my feelings into words and that means more to me than you know. Please don't ever stop making this music. That line "i dont feel at all, like i did when i was young" seems everyone feels it within them now a days.. Remember when you're young, you used to dream of how to make others feel the same happiness that you feel by sharing it with them, but now, you're trying to find that same happiness you used to feel. That's what that line meant for me anyways. Another great song from you guys. 👏👏👏👌👍❤️

I absolutely love not only the song but the video. Both of them do so well in describing what major depression feels like and as a writer of stories who literally just got done writing one a month ago about struggling to survive through such depression(with the help of a friend), "I'd like to speak of love and all its glory, instead, I write it out in sadder stories" was super powerful and hit me right in the core. I often deal with my own bad thoughts, using my stories.

The line: 'I'd like to speak of love and all its glory, instead I write it out in sadder stories' hit me hard, just like the rest of the song. I love your songs and everytime I feel more suicidal I listen to 'Let it Burn' I don't know how and why but it really helps and I'm more then thankful for your songs and hard work you all are putting in your career and your support for fans and all people. And even more wholesome is a fact that - as I saw in comments under this song - you're giving hearts and replying to EVERY ONE comment, showing that everyone matters and that you really read those comments. It's truly wholesome and thank you for that. Thank you for helping me - and I'm more people than me - keep being alive 🖤💕

Another incredible and relatable piece of art, it’s a magical feeling when you find a song that puts your feelings into words.. I always use songwriting to put complicated emotions that I am afraid to come to terms with down on paper, and it relieves me and helps me begin to understand them. It’s my solace. All their songs make me wonder, though, if CS is doing okay mentally. This reminds me slightly of the Linkin Park/Chester thing, I’d hate to see more cries for help go ignored. Hope they know all of us are here for them :)

How many tears can I cry? How many times can someone lie? How many bruises can you spy? How many days until I die? How many thoughts can I think? How long will I continue to shrink? How many blows to break that last link? How long until I finally sink? How many bullets left in the gun? How many shots until the round is done? How many can I shoot beneath the sun? How many…? And still have a bullet for one.
