Citroën C25 4x4 Turbo Diesel. First cold start in many years! will it start?

In this video I take the first real look at the C25....
It has been way to cold since it got here, and it still is... but now its time.. this barn find has been standing for many many years... It has not been started, it cant brake and the clutch is apparently worn out...
lets see if it will start!

Great result, most old diesels are bullet proof . The van looks a bit rough but as it’s turbo diesel and 4x4 it’s definitely worth saving and im sure you will bring it back to life. Great video🙂👍

One of the joys of diesel fuel is if it's dry and clean and hasn't suffered from "diesl bug" (a bacteria that feeds on water-contaminated diesel, particularly bad if it has biodiesel in it), it'll last for years unlike petrol with it being an oil rather than a volatile that off-gases over time, so old diesel's still good to burn off in an old-start cold-start... :D

Exactly... the van was running around 8 years ago and has been in dry storage ever since... :)

She is chewin on Gummi candies!!! 😄 Bud, before you take anything apart with the engine, maybe run a bunch of "Sea Foam" in a fresh tank of diesel fuel, if the tank looks clean inside? Sea Foam is mostly naptha. (camp fuel)

Hehe.. It was smelling wonderful! but yes, fresh diesel is going to make a difference for sure. ;)

Ha! Congrats on starting it up :D. Gotta love these old diesel engines. They don't need that much to run. We have also cold weather in Poland now. Hopefully all my fleet fires up just by looking at the ignition key ;D

Nothing beats the smell of a diesel engine started in frosty conditions... its the smell of woodchopping, campsites and adventures all at once!...

In the UK we never got the C25 or J5 just the Ducato and Talbot Express and most are campervans

Sounds good overall ...Might be missing on an injector...put some new diesel in and some dipetane it's great stuff ..

You could let those glowplugs heat up bevore starting the engine. When the light goes out you can start. And it wil start easy.
