This is common problem for these engines, related with chain tensioner. Check oil filter, you might find metal parts there.

I have a bipper with the same engine,its mostly down to service intervals,recommended is 10,000 miles,mine is serviced every 4.5 5000 miles,never had an issue with it

Most people out there think everything last forever or abuse maintenance, they then get a problem and bad mouth the vehicle. Totally agree with you I maintain my fiorino and never had a problem with it.

hi mate, did you get to the issue with this, my mums 1.3 HDi is starting to sound a bit rough and I found the P1541 ( Intermittent oil pressure) code on it yesterday. Many thanks!

It was the crank so in the end I sold it to someone who swapped the engine, they are over engineered with cheap parts unfortunately

I have same problem with mine now, had fuel injector seals replaced and still got problem. Did you find out problem as many garages are telling me different things

Can be from chain, but why low pressure?

@@adrian.conisca the chain runs the oil pump I believe whether it's skipped a mark or loose maybe could be a probable cause but I'm not entirely sure!? 🤔

@@leoshedden2011 it was the chain + chain guide(extremely used). Had to change motor

Mine dont smoke but it stinks . Cant have heater / fan on when standing still .

Mine also stinks, rotten burning smell. Apparently it's oil burning from the gearbox, common faults apparently 🙃

​@@mrfixitbolton5889your lack of maintenance it's not the fault of the poor engine... That sound is a stretched chain or broken tensioner and you decided to rev it up and put in on KZbin.. Chains need maintenance just like belts, you just decided to ignore it. I have mine check every 100.000km, it has 300.000km now and needs to be changed, lasted triple what a belt does

I'm just rebuilding a bipper 1.3 engine. They are very over engineered the amount of play (front to back of engine) in the cam case (few mm at least) and has to butt up perfectly to timing cover same with crank case or it will leak. The stick on on lifter that fall off valves when trying to bolt cam case to the head 🙈 why on earth it couldn't have been made as one piece?
