You were lucky with the 23mm hex nut. Try one installed for 10 years and watch the car move as the edges of the nut start to tear - even after a soaking with lubricant.😢

That’s true, they can be a pain in the arse. I ended up using a grinder on the rear one on my Mk1 C1.

I saw a C1 gen 2 with a reversing camera instead of the wiper. Looked cool, but I can't possibly do without a wiper!

This particular model comes with a factory fitted reversing camera.

No

Is this a common issue among mk2 models. Mine has broken recently too. Still I'd rather replacing it than remove at all.

The wiper motors on the Mk2 have a habit of going wrong, yes. This one was fine and is in storage, should the car ever be sold and this is complete reversible. Just goes down to owner’s taste.

@@DABDIY I see, any suggestions for a replacement motor?
@DABDIY8 ай бұрын
None that I know of, I haven’t looked into replacing it.

is this still technically road legal? 👍🏽

Absolutely! Not all vehicles have a rear wiper fitted by design.

Why................... a rear wiper is essential in bad weather on the motorway
@DABDIY23 күн бұрын
It’s really not essential at all! It’s a near vertical window; keep it coated in something like rainex or the likes and it’ll keep itself clear. Not all cars even come with a rear wiper, so it’s absolutely not essential in any way.
