That's a nifty tool Leon that you used for clutch alignment. All the ones that I've ever seen was specific to the clutch job that had splines on it and went up into the pilot bushing. Nice work and easy peesy so far!

Regarding the suspension: On my Cit C5, when its lifted up, I can adjust the suspension: Start the engine, then press the down button on the center console behind the gear stick. The Cit now "pulls in" its "legs", although in the air, since it wants to lower. So this could make taking off the hub easier! - Also, when you've got a Cit with a Hydractive, pls check the Hydraulic Fluid level and note the owner if it doesn't fit. Just my experience with my Cit.. ;)

Great video leon! Going places! For this type of job what would you say is a fair price from a garage. I get each place is different but a ball park idea. Also is there any specific things to ensure you clutch does not wear before it time

Any idea what caused the clutch bearing to go off like that? I'm wondering if the driver uses the clutch pedal as a footrest...or maybe the clutch was changed a little bit ago and they didn't do the bearing at the same time. Your thoughts, mate?
@bodgitandleggitgarage7 жыл бұрын
aussiebloke609 hi mate it could be one of them problems or a mixture of all of them could have also been a faulty part or a cheap part

Hey, thanks for your great videos on working on cars. Me, got a Citroen C5 with 200k on the counter, and it still has its first clutch. Sooo, this might be in for me as well, will sure keep this as reference, Keep it going! That is real Internet spirit, show others how to do things!

This is a good video, I am in the motor trade myself, and my dad is a taxi driver. A c5 was his last vehicle, 2.0hdi on a 03 plate. This was a pull type clutch, the bearing ripped out of the pressure plate at 120k. We got a valeo solid flywheel conversion kit for it, it worked perfectly. Heard a lot of stories of snapped cranks etc but I dont believe it. The vehicle is still used sometimes as a second car and it's done 250k now, the clutch still feels excellent. To anyone watching this video, be aware that the diesel version is quite a lot more difficult than what you see here. It was 9 years ago ish, but I remember we only had room to pull the box back and rest it to the side, to give just enough access to change the flywheel and clutch. Great video mate, I'm enjoying them.

Anyway, the gearbox is down.. do you think(suggest to the viewers) that the oil seals: on the main gearbox shaft , drive shafts and behind the flywheel need to be replaced? It`s lot of work taking that down and then few month or say year later the seal to start leaking.. On C5 - crank side seal, and the gearbox ones are recommended to be replaced every four years or so. If someone cares... the clutch pressure plate bolts: 2+/- 0.2daN.m

Yes mate it's like everything always best to replace everything but I can only do what the customer tells me to do I cannot work for free and buy parts for free
