I'm crying again right now listening to this again... and I know I'll be crying again in the days ahead. But mixed with the sorrow is joy. Thanks Gord, and to all the musicians that you have influenced, and for leaving us with memories for the rest of our lifetimes.

Petey Lavoy, its ok to cry buddy, it has been a rough ride, the songs from the band are purely Canadian, we lost more than a singer in Gordie, we lost a part of our fabric as Canadians, we lost a friend, he loved us all too bud, its ok.

I walk by the old house a few doors down and there's nobody there. I get to thinkin' 'bout life an how it ain't to fair. I turn around and go back home. I miss the old days. Who'd of known. Like running to the wall but missing the call on the old telephone. No one's home. I feel so so .....sad.

MsCrumbles...sadly he didn't. Even more sad, he was disappointing. Slow sad dirges all show. Never stood up, just sat on the stool and pined! He came across as the saddest man in the world. Definitely not a "festival" set. Festivals are supposed to be fun. Take the depressing set to a hipster cafe. His voice is still golden though! But tiresome after 10 dirges.

Dave Gerard Sorry to hear it wasn't what you were hoping for! I'm quite the opposite, haha.. I absolutely LOVED his quiet solo sets! I saw 3 of them this year, and I thought it was a beautiful change up from the full band shows. Perhaps venue & atmosphere does have something to do with it though..We were at small theatres when I saw the solo shows. Maybe it doesn't go over so well with a festival vibe.
@davehagerty1007 жыл бұрын
I mean he was good. When he started singing I literally got chills. But I thought he'd bring it up a notch (and actually stand up) at some point for a festival crowd. I'll never dis Dallas, just my maybe overblown expectations. I gotta remember this was a folk fest not an Alexis on Fire show!

This sounds great his voice is amazing. But I can’t help but be a little annoyed at the fact he played the chorus wrong. The B chord added to the progression there is a crucial part of the song. To me that’s the moment that really sucks you in and is the most gripping. The song is just not the same without it. Nonetheless, it’s still a very good cover there’s no denying that. He did a great job singing and that’s most important.
