I think he even pitched this song up a couple semitones from the original in this video. Usually aging artists have to do the opposite!

I discovered Dallas' music in 2010, when I was 19 years old. My 20's, like I imagine everyone's is to some extent, have been full of ups and downs. Having his music to get me through it has been a privilege though. As I look towards my 30's, I realize we're all getting older, and this song specifically becomes that much more poignant. Again, though, looking forward to more of his music in the future is going to be a small comfort as I age.

This is my favourite version of any song Dallas has ever sung. It's not even my favourite song, but the way Dallas sings it, the emotion in his voice.. it gets me every single time. what a very special, personal moment he shared with the world this day. I wish I could find this on Spotify, if anyone knows where I can find the audio version please let me know.. I've screen recorded this on my phone, so I can listen to it while I am at sea. Thank you Dallas, for being authentic, and being you. much love ❤

His percussive strumming is a thing of beauty. No matter how hard I try I can never nail it. It’s RIGHT THERE but somehow always out of reach. It’s a sound/style only Dallas Green can produce.
@nikicanplayguitar27905 жыл бұрын
Right my man. I’ve been playing and performing the acoustic versions of his songs from guide me back home live album almost exclusively for the past 2 months and I gotta say he might be the best performer out there and playing his songs really made me up my game both as a guitarist and a singer.

A coma might feel better than this, attempting to discover where to begin. You're weighed down, you're full of something. Of sickness, and desertion. You're weighed down, you're full of something, you're underneath it all. So say goodbye to love, and hold your head up high. There's no need to rush we're all just waiting, waiting to die. Hoping a better place is all I need, with moments of innocence and mystery. Oh, it's the little things you miss. Like waking up all alone. Oh, it's the little things you miss, when you're underneath it all. So say goodbye to love, and hold your head up high. There's no need to rush we're all just waiting, waiting to die. All your friends seem like enemies when you're broken down and empty. All your friends seem like enemies when you're broken down and empty. So say goodbye to love, and hold your head up high. There's no need to rush we're all just waiting, waiting to die

His voice is aging like fine wine. For example, this version is pitched up at least 2 or 3 semitones from the original version. Aging artists usually have to pitch their songs down cuz they can’t hit the notes like they used to. Not the case with Dallas.
