I'm Armenian Bulgarian whose ancestors moved here to Bulgaria more than a hundred years ago. Earlier last year I got the chance to visit Armenia for the first time in my life. I did a lot of volunteering and traveling (a lot of hitchhiking too) around in the country. The kindness of the local people there is simply OUT of this planet! Never seen such kind people before. The nature and the food are absolutely incredible too! A must visit for every traveler and adventure-seeker.

It is best to use the Armenian alphabet. I don't understand why everyone tries to use the Latin alphabet? The Latin alphabet has few possibilities. So you have to designate one sound with three letters. And in the Armenian alphabet everything is strict: Each sound has its own letter

@S M If you are interested, I can tell you why at the age of 56 I wanted to learn Armenian (and I did so): because during my first visit I found the people so incredibly warmhearted, nice and helpful that it really hurt not being able to communicate. So the following year (after my self-study) when I returned for a visit, they and everyone I met were so happy and even thankful(!) that someone had "bothered" to learn Armenian just to be able to speak with them.

@mairaa345
@mairaa345 7 жыл бұрын
OkThisllbeMyName maybe it seemd hard because just like Greek and Albanian, Armenian doesn't belong to any specific language group ( Slavic, Turkic, Semitic etc. ) it is a indoeuropean language that has developed itself independently. Armenian contains many loanwords though from Persian, Turkish, Russian (since was part of Soviet Union) and lately also English :) plus they have their own alphabet

Yerevan is the heart of every real Armenian. Yerevan is the cultural center all Armenian people living with in Armenia or broad. The only way we can identify our selves as nationality through our beloved Armenia.

There are lots of Armenians (at least their names are Armenian) in the US. As the Turk below says, our ancestors were not always people we would like to emulate (that is certainly true here, also). This is an ancient language. One of the oldest.

Armenian language has no relationship with turkish language complete different families the only similarity is some borrowed words also did you know turkish itself has borrowed words from armenian for example khach cross turned to turkish hac. There are many more examples and there is a book by a european linguist i can provide you the link if you would like

@@mairaa345 Oh no. I can tell if someone is Greek. Greeks stand out very much from all the three you have mentioned. Spanish and Italians are similar I have tough times saying who is who. Armenian though have specific looks, probably their skin color - whitish almost like snow. Just like Georgian people. I would even say they are real WHITE people. Food for thought: Caucasian race (white) comes from Caucasus mountains (Armenia, Georgia, Iran)
