He loves the technology so i always show him your videos he forgets alot but these videos bring back all the memories of walking in the alps and he has te biggest smile and stories when i show this. And he forgets he saw this so i can show this every day again and again and he always gets as amazed as the first time he can't walk anymore and he says it's like he can walk there again. Hi Henry! I’ve been walking with you for close to a year now, and as I turned eighty last month I decided it’s time to thank you. Between you and my treadmill I’ve managed to walk at least a mile most mornings and put a couple of torn meniscus’s to rest. This walk was by far, the scariest to date! I’m not fearful of heights, but I don’t think I could manage this one! I did swim with the Manta Rays, snorkel an incredible reef and hike the private Hakalau Forest NWR on the Big Island of Hawaii for my big day. I figure you and your videos deserve some of the credit for my ability to take those adventures. So, thank you….and keep on walking!

I'm using the walks to help me study. when I become distracted from my work and I look up I am briefly entertained by some mountain scene but ultimately my work is able to call back my attention. My preference would also be videos that have only natural sound, but I appreciate some people like the monologue because they feel like they are engaging with the hiker. So if there were two versions, one with reproduced natural sound and one with the original, that would cover a wide range of appeal. You have many followers and I think you could grow it might higher.
@CityWalks5 жыл бұрын
Great feedback. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave that comment. I'll definitely think about the idea of having two versions. Thanks again. -Henry
@airbnbpremiumprofile20175 жыл бұрын
I also find the automatic iris to be distracting. When the village down below and the sky light levels are are static, it produces a more natural image in the shade and is closer to what the eye observes. When the levels are elevated to make the shady scenes brighter, it 'burns out' the sky and the village below and also does funny things to the frame rate, which to me is less than optimal. So my vote would be to maintain a static f-stop and only adjust it if you find you have entered a scene that is too dimly represented on screen, and make sure to reset it when you are back in the light.
@airbnbpremiumprofile20175 жыл бұрын
You also might try using a directional shotgun microphone which may reduce breath sounds.

We got a treadmill this fall, I get on it once a day with one of your walks. I prefer your nature walks like these way over your city walks. I appreciate your little verbal intro & details you give along the way & I love the sounds of nature as you walk, often matching my steps to yours. Great suggestion, Lee! I've started putting a screen bug in the first 30 seconds or so with the time, month, and temp. If you'd like to find hikes by time length, the website has them broken out by that and/or location. I don't always know the distance, especially since these European walks are measured by time. Just wanted to say a big Thank You to you for all of these incredible walking videos. I use them whilst using my VR Headset on my Treadmill and it certainly passes on the time it takes me to exercise! I love your channel and you are the best at doing this - believe me I have tried out many.. I am especially enjoying the Swiss walks - incredible scenery and although I use my treadmill in my home in the UK, with your videos I walk across the World every single day with the help of you!! Thanks for keeping me fit :)

Your channel will be top in the next coming years as 360 VR is blowing up. People are buying treadmills and walking at home to beat cabin fever like myself. I would much rather walk inside my safe home then walk outside on my town with heavy traffic. This scenery would of been breathtaking in 360 VR

Hope people living in Switzerland know that they are blessed to see this mesmerizing view for almost free. Me I have to fly for like 12hrs by plane and its super expensive..

I hope so too! We are the same. Very far and it's very pricey, but definitely worth it at least once. -H

That was so awesome! But kind of scary at times lol> What kind of foot wear do you like to wear for these steep and craggy hikes?

I usually just use trail hiking shoes. On this one, I could have used the higher support of boots, but it was fine for the most part. -H

Really enjoyed my treadmill walk today with you! There were some pretty steep cliffs along that trail. Do you know what the elevation was at the top. You probably indicated that but I missed it. Thanks for the journey!

Hi there glad you enjoyed the walk. I think the hut is at 5800 feet or so.

Hah. Yeah, there were some steep drops but it was such a fun walk and I didn't feel unsafe except in one or two places. Cheers. -H

Dear City Walks, What a great video! I enjoyed this hike/walk! Might you share a bit about the video equipment you used? Thanks, again!

Thanks and glad you enjoyed it. I can't remember which camera I used for this video but it might have been a sony a7sii with a Zhiyun weebil gimbal. Or, it may have been the DJI Osmo pocket -H

@@CityWalks thanks! I was looking at, and now think I'll pick-up, the DJI OM 4.

That trail is not for the fainthearted or those with balance/vertigo issues. One wrong step or too fast a pace and you'll be down in the valley into Grindelwald the hard way😂 The views are spectacular though.

Ha. Yes it is a very dramatic and beautiful hike. But, there were only a couple places that made me worry. Still it’s a long way down. Thanks so much for the comment in for watching. - Henry
