Agreed all around. Dance of the Aurora is so good for Russia that it is better than Religious Settlements (normally an S-tier pantheon). The Shrine is so good for Russia that I usually don't bother with Holy Site Prayers. Next: Byzantium?

@@TheCivLifeR To me HSP is solely when you risk getting shut out. Since a religion is the first major thing for Russia to do, getting shut out is rarely a concern.

I love adding the religious ability to turn faith into food output while playing Russia, I focus on my land I can on production and try to make my religion very high output of Faith so I can get a high output of food.

Feed the World or Work Ethic. It's a tough choice but I think I'd rather have the production. You can solve food issues a lot more easily than you can solve production ones.

Another reason Russia might be good for diplo is because if you rush religion (which you should always do) you can get the mahabodhi temple for 2 diplo points

Speaking of secret strats, you can force spawn CC, which allow you faith-buy city center buildings (don't remember name) , and your all founded cities gets monument, ambar and watermill immediately. And yeah, they price for faith remains constant.

I believe that Dance of the Aurora and Desert Folklore should be nerfed to +0.5. Compared to the Jungels, Tundra and Desert 1. Spawn in huge clusters, 2. Stack with other adjacency-boosting features like Mountains and Districts, 3. The downside of not being able to do much else on these tiles isn't actually that big since if you place your cities correctly, you'll have a decent amount of normal tiles to work on.

Fair, but if you are going to start nerfing pantheons, you should probably nerf Religious Settlements too. Most pantheons are severely underpowered or highly situational. I think it would make more sense to nerf Russia directly. (I propose to give them an empire-wide loyalty penalty.) Mali is not overpowered with Desert Folklore. Its penalty to production keeps it relatively balanced. Russia has no corresponding penalty.

I'm pretty sure they don't stack with mountains. Districts and woods though. But 0.5 would make it super useless. It's the only thing that Russia and desert civs do. They'd be unplayable otherwise.

Maybe you could cap it at like +3 or something from tundra instead. Otherwise I think the pantheon will be rarely used (never used outside of Canada or Russia and only situationally for those civs)
