Civ 6 | Ursa Pulls A BLINDING Settler Play, Poor Russia!! - (#2 Deity++ Mongolia Civilization VI)

In this game of Civ 6, we’ll be playing as Genghis Khan’s Mongolia, and the objective today is to try and take on our favourite max difficulty settings of Civilization Six with a leader we all know and love! Genghis is all about conquest, horses, not wearing a sheep’s bladder on your head and calling it cavalry, and diplomatic viability exploiting, but will that be enough?? This time with a terrifically tough difficulty and Roman Holiday’s AI improving mod!
We know and love this combination that produces some of the hardest Civ 6 we’ve ever seen - will we be able to win this time??

Yay! Things are really getting interesting, now! Awesome play on Russia! This looks to be a great game! I need to play Mongolia some time. I tried it once, but I think I was too antsy to attack early. I'm learning these horse rushes come a little later than what I was itching to get at.

Mongolia is very powerful, but gettig the good timing on the horse push can be tricky. You need to carefuly pick the right eureka and ispiration for it to work (and having acess to enough horses and iron ofc) rushing to monarchy and feo for the stirup and castle boost, diplomatic service for the spy, priting also. Once you get your momentum and pillage economy, the game is justy a breeze, you can even skip airplanes as your units get so much combat strenght with diplo visibility.

This is why I always struggle with military civs like Rome and Scythia and the Mongols: it is so hard to get the unique unit-based army online in time to be relevant. Especially because you the military infrastructure, the economic infrastructure, AND the science infrastructure. It is so exciting to you you pull it off!

The total combat strength you can get on a Keshig unit is up to 116 against units and 86 against cities: Base Keshig Ranged Strength: 45 +3 (Mongol Horde) +24 (Diplomatic Visibility) +5 (Great General) +17 (Army) +10 (Garrison, when in district or city) Units killing: +5 (Volley) +7 (Arrow Storm) City shooting: +7 ( Incendiaries) -17 ( Ineffective to cities)

Ursa if you boost it overflows, so when you complained about currency being in boost zone it doesnt matter unless you finish the tech before boosting

Apologies for the delay, but my new bed was calling me with a sweet siren song... In todays episode, the Mongolian Horde discovers political philosophy. earns their first great general, and form their first republic? A bold choice. The Barbarian hordes are slowly pushed back from Mongolian lands, and Russia starts being annoying. The Urdu gets built, and ironworking gets discovered. Russia spreads crusade to Mongolia, and the barbarian's start to regret their assault. Mongolia sends their first trade route to China, and then begins to build their first commercial hubs. Discoverin many Russian and German settlers, the Mongolians are tempted, but then Russia declares war on Korea, and Mongolia is quick to exploit it joining in, and quickly convince Germany to join in. Despite being on the same side in a war, Ludwig starts getting nervous, but is placated with some kind words. Friendships are declared, rivalries likewise, as the world enters a new era. A settler gets kidnapped by barbarians, then rescued, and the decision is made to make a safe settlement rather than an ideal one. Feudalism is discovered, serfdom is implemented, and the Warlord's Throne starts getting built. A shocking discovery shows that Kublai has access to gunpowder, which is frightening. The Mongols discover Japan, and another trade route is sent to the faraway lands of Kublai. Japan decides they will have none of it, and denounces Mongolia, as many have done before. Chivalry is discovered, the first Keshig gets built, and the Horde begins. After a few settlers are taken from Russia, peace is declared. Dortmund is rapidly losing loyalty, and will soon fall. It is discovered that Kublai is at war with just about everyone and that their defenses are weakened. The Mongolian capitol becomes a metropolis as their lands get invaded by an army of spies. The invasion gears up, and a stunning discovery is made that ensures lots of luxuries are sent back to Mongolia. And the invasion of Kublai's lands begins, there can be only one Khan. Will Kublai get steamrolled by Mongolia? Will the rest of China unite to face a new foe or continue their infighting? Will the world descend into chaos and gibbering madness? How do you feel about Land Surveyors instead of Caravanseries? It’s grown on me over time & I feel like it’s the best economic card in that stage if you’re not running the settler/builder/wonder cards. Even if you have 4 trade routes going it would still take 30 turns just to buy a monument. It’s not a huge difference, but I feel like I save more money on the tiles I buy with Land Surveyors than the gold I would gain with Caravanseries.

I tend not to use them because you often can't get the bonuses up fast enough - plus as units they are very slow! By the time you've unlocked your ordu you already have horsemen you see
