maces were likely better than swordsmen as the bludgeoning and denting in the armor would be worse than trying to slice through armor what wouldn't be as effective

maces for fighting western knights, swords for majority of army that didn't have money for steel armor

Swords weren't designed in most European nations for slicing anyway. They were made for thrusting, which, with enough force, could penetrate armour. Additionally, they were also used for armour denting as well, as their sides tended to be a lot blunter. It was never for the straight kill, but designed to disrupt and damage the opponent's armour to obtain the vulnerability.

Swords could not directly penetrate plate armour, but were instead used to attack through the small gaps. However, it is important to remember that only knights and lords would be able to afford plate armour, and most of an army would be peasants with cheaper armour, like gambesons, which could sometimes be penetrated by sword thrusts, although the spear would have been the preferred weapon for the standard footmen, due to their effectiveness, and the ease with which they were made

I really have to disagree. I love the districts and adjacency bonuses combined with the inspirations and the eurekas. They make you do little quests to optimize your game, and shapes your civilizations focus based on your location.

Cornelius Sevald Ik I agree with you. I love the new features in civ 6 but I was trying to get at that they are adding too many mods to make it like civ 5. Like as you mentioned inspirations and euroika, with the mods they are usingit got nerfed to 20% compared to 50% or removing the warmongering penalty. All unique to civ 6 and not 5 but basically gone.

I absolutely love EU4 and have played the EU games for at least 3000 hours, but im afraid it would be rather boring to watch without editing a lot of it out, which would hurt the banter :/ Its just way too slow compared to civ on fast to work in the current format.

EU4 is super boring for videos... and extremely confusing for a user. HOI4 only barely gets away with it because its combat 24/7 once the wars kick off, but EU4 is tedious.

Want to really have a broken brain? One theory about antimatter is that it is just regular matter, but it is moving backwards in time. This makes sense mathematically quite easily - if you treat time as negative for regular matter, then all of its properties exactly match antimatter. I feel like they rushed into mods too fast - the base game has its issues sure (though the first patch fixed a load of them), but this mod's ugly UI and glitches are distracting and so far it doesn't seem to really add much to the game, apart from removing a key strategic component of the game (war weariness is not a bad thing!).

It's so strange and ironic that a piece of machinery was built to replace the bow, however it was easier to train archers how to nock and arrow and fire a bow than the multi step process of a flintlock that had a pretty sizable probability to accidentally discharge. It makes me wonder if it was adopted simple because of the "Shock and Awe" factor of the weapon. A chump can use a bow, but it does take a bit more know how to shoot a flintlock. I didn't do any research prior to this so feel free to point out anything I missed or assumed.

Actually... The tectonic plates are constantly in motion and when they collide mountains are created, either through wrinkling the plates when two equal plates collide, like land+land or ocean+ocean or one slipping over the other (land over ocean). Thus you can't really tell the age by the amount of mountains. Rather, it is more likely that in this map the plates are moving apart, thus smoothening out the plates. This would make it likely that there are lots of islands on the other side of the planet where the ocean plates are forced together.

It was only a hundred or so years before guns completely outmatched bow and arrows, even with accuracy at long range. Bows basically dissapeared in the 1600s completely.
