I went through all this as a child during the war in Croatia, there are no rules, if you are lucky enough not to get hit by shrapnel from a grenade, you will survive..I remember once when the shelling started, my friend came out of the basement to see where the shells were falling, then a shell fell in front of him and killed him..if he had stayed in the basement he would have been alive...you have to be smart, and not pretend to be smart in situations like this...

A beautiful fairytale city with lots of crisp white snow, intricate Christmas lights hanging across the main boulevard, lit up windows in shops and boutiques, street musicians, soaring cafés. Reminds me of war in when i was 3 years old. Had post trauma for alot of years. Crazy hard life as result of that. Being woken up inmiddle of the night to run for shelter, half of night, hungry tired on cement floohr, being stuck on the streets when air raid went on, the bombs, the death all around. Years later when we came to u.s.a. i had nightmares, and 24 hours, almost anxiety of dying being hurt. War is the most stupiest dummest thing ever

I wish more Westerners had Grandma's like mine. This was everyday in England during the war, constant air raids random bombings civilians really stood no chance taking thier chances not being underground. While everyone was getting into their bunkers, she was getting together with the girls and driving up to the nearest hospital, with roads and houses being taken out around them from random bombs Sometimes an entire house would just turn into shrapnel before your eyes leaving the ones around it almost intact. She always told my dad growing up that you never know when the Crown will involve us in another war, she knew it was going to happen. Her health wouldn't let her make it this far but I know she is with us now. Everyone else is clueless about that which is coming. Its breaks my heart cause I want to help my family but they don't want to help themselves. Its all too much for them like most adult things are. If my grandma was still around, I know she would be pressing family to move out of cities and apartments instead of selling houses with land to move into city apartments.
