I love how your introduction takes literally 10 seconds. No bullshit, no obnoxious animated intros, no screaming. Just a simple greeting and quick statement what the video will be about, all in 10 seconds, and you immediately get to the point. Very refreshing. You've earned yourself a new sub.

Attention advanced tip: only work the 3f tile for 1 or 2 turns, then switch back to the 2f2p tile, until growth to 2 pop happens at the same time or earlier than the scout finishes. Such detail mistakes can cost you a city state envoy or a hut.
@TheRiddler4915 жыл бұрын
Would it not be better to leave it on 2f2p to pump out the scout, then put a turn into a slinger, then start settler as to not interrupt the production of the scout and maximize efficiency? Am I thinking too much about this?

@Shankeysmoe254 жыл бұрын
These videos are super helpful, but this one raises more questions than it answers. This specific topic should include builders and how improving tiles affects your yields especially those that contain luxury/bonus resources or those that contain yields other than just food and production. I don’t see anything about builders in this series.
@IWubYooz6 жыл бұрын
At 1:30 you explain a problem that can be solved by just using Shift+Enter to force end your turn for one turn you still get the production towards your settler and can end your turn. In fact with some starts, if I have really good yields I'll do this from turn one until 2 pop to pump out a really quick settler, but I play on a wimpy difficulty and is probably not recommended at higher difficulties, but it is an option.

Unrelated to the actual topic of the video, but after that initial bit of scouting the placement of Rio de Janeiro hurts me - it's one tile too close to the river delta and now it's not possible to build another city there. I love me some high adjacency harbors, and that would've been a sweet sweet spot.

Im surprized you didnt mention saxy the civilization classic tip, production focus. Basically the idea being if you set your focus to production, yet manually lock your pops to food, every time you grow that pop adds the highest production tiles production to whatever your working. Its admittedly a minor thing in grand scheme of things, but if your game is going 150 turns or 1500 turns, this trick adds production at every pop growth that adds up.

Maybe a silly a question, but do tiles with builder improvements on them still yield their bases resources like food and production? Basically once I become the suzerain of Granda, I seem to only be able to build Alcazars where I want to build farms.

I have a funny story about this. In the match I am currently playing, I settled a city near a City-State that has a flooding river. The city-state refuses build a dam on the river, so it floods every now and then. Near this river, there was a great place for a Holy Site. I didn't want my citizens drowning all the time, so I told my city to ignore Faith. Even so, when the river flooded again, the game warned me about damages tiles AND citizens killed! Even though I told them to stay away from that tile, they still chose to work there and die!
@msolec20004 жыл бұрын
I see. That incense tile could be a good example for using "avoid faith".

Quick question. If we're supposed to be concentrating on food, would our early production be diminished. i.e., longer time to train settlers and troops, etc...?

I hope the devs nerf warmonger affects or add the a.i. to openly or secretly like waring to an extent. Hi. I have something that has been bugging me since I started playing Civ 6. If I look at the citizens view of a city this is what I see. I see the icons for people. Some are highlighted and some are not. Those I get how to utilize. There are other tiles with exploitable resources on them that do not have any icon for people,highlighted or not. They just are not there. Can anyone tell me why there is not an icon for every exploitable resource?

They aren't generally useful. I think there is not very good faith that uses them and I think Romans can use for heated baths. The one time they are useful is in energy production. You can use a worker in later game to build a geothermal power plant. A very cheap way to get electricity.

@odulkucuk4 жыл бұрын
Best videos for Civ that i've seen. Great kudos! One quick question about the working tile selection when you mentioned going aggressive 2nd build settler: When you go with 2/2 tile, you end up having scout at 6th turn and citizen surplus at 7th, that makes you spend an additional turn to start building a settler (Btw, it's not a total lose, since you use that extra turn for another thing's build partially) But if you go with 3/0 tile, you end with 5 turn surplus and 9 turn scout production, whick makes you lose 4 turns for building a settler as a 2nd order build. So that postpones literally 4 turns your 2nd city settlement. Would it be wrong to say this?

This video would be a lot better if you had bothered to learn how the game choose what tiles to work. There is NOTHING that make it choose the diamond tile, because it is a diamond tile, the chooser is completely blind as to what type of tile it is. 1: There is a default 100% logical system for choosing tiles based on yields, 10 yields no matter type is better than a 9 yield tile. If you have two 3 yields tiles, the game choose tiles based on a default, if you use the UI you can modify the default, to say choose 3 food tile over a 2 food and 1 production.
