Ravens not crows. George RR Martin deliberately differentiates both. The crow has always been linked with death. Euron Greyjoy is associated with the crow. The three-eyed crow visits Bran in his dreams and Bran falsely associates it with Bloodraven (readers also). When Bran asks Bloodraven if he's the three-eyed crow, Bloodraven never seemed to understand him.

Yup, he did. He's smiling because Hosteen Frey is falling straight into Stannis' trap; Stannis wants the Frey and Manderly forces to charge straight towards Stannis across the frozen lake, where they will fall in and freeze to death. Then, Stannis will have the Northern Mountain clans flank the remaining Frey and Manderly forces on the east through the forests, and the remainder of Stannis' forces will charge at the Freys and Manderlys head on across the lake. Stannis is smiling because this is the first bit of good luck he's had in this battle. The battle is finally turning in his favour.

This is the best chapter from winds of winter, and the few paragraphs from Asha. I think there is almost no doubt of Stannis's victory, Roose has a bigger army but they're all divided, and we know that Wyman Manderly probably will go to Stannis side, Stannis knows that the Freys are coming so he will obviously set up a trap, with Karlstarks men, since he means to "proove" their loyalty somehow, he means to build some defense, and he probably will do something like what Mors Umber did

I don't know if I'm the first one to come up with this theory but Theon could be Azor Ahai. I think it would be an excellent reveal. Here's my evidence: 1. He is a prince that may have been promised by his father (not sure on this one) 2. He became that prince right after the red comet 3. He became the prince after being baptized "reborn" in the ocean (salt) with fire (smoke). The only one. 4. Dragons were born around the time of his "rebirth" 5. He and Sansa will most likely meet up with Brienne who has a red sword. This sword may be given to Theon to protect Sansa. It is of the same steel of Ice. And what if he had to kill Sansa with it? Evidence against: 1. Not a targeryan. Prophecy states Azor Ahai is of dragon blood (maybe a kraken could be a sea dragon?) 2. Not of ice and fire Theon may not fit the bill perfectly but ever since G. R. R. M. Stated that prophecies are not supposed to be easy or literal, I have stopped believing that Jon or dany are Azor Ahai. Theon seems likely

We all remember Tyrion's statement, "I have a soft spot in my heart for cripples, bastards, and broken things." Is it just coincidence that, in ADwD, Theon thinks to himself that "He [Theon] might well be a broken thing, but he still had a dagger"? I don't think that Theon is Azor Ahai, but I do believe that he will ultimately redeem himself, in spades.

It will be extremely confusing. The first two seasons were pretty faithful to the books so you can skip them in preparing for Winds of Winter. A Storm of Swords, A Feast For Crows, and A Dance with Dragons are required if you want to understand the plot lines of Winds of Winter.

I would read the entire series. There are little details in AGOT that show up later and Daenerys's story in Qarth is a lot different because Xaro lives and shows up in ADWD, and of course you'll miss out on Vargo Hoat'th wonderful thpeech impairment
