Major throwing arm injury, major reconstructive surgery, minimal training camp due to recovery time, but enough to outperform Trey Lance, Sam Darnold and Brandon Allen for QB1 recovering ahead of schedule, starts off the season with a BANG - with BLOWOUT wins for his first 5 games, averaging 33.4 pts/game, proceeds to lead the league in virtually ALL QB stats for the season - ALL IN THE SAME YEAR. Because of the timing of his injury and recovery, he didn't miss any games. Technically, nothing to come back from. I think to get the award, you either have to have missed significant time due to injury, or be really bad... then really good.

As a shooter who invested in moa equipment early because of its correlation to inches i think you missed the biggest advantage of mils. Its easier to memorize the 2 digit mils for range that stay small, that it is to memorize the 3 or 4 digit drops in moa. 7.4 mil is easier to recall than 26.75

I saw that video on Instagram. Half the throws were dimes. Most of the others were in rhythm, on time, on target. A couple were deep balls where receivers made good adjustments. Either way, QB got it where it was caught.

Like I keep saying if you don't see how special Brock is you know nothing about the position. It isn't hard to see hoe talent Mahommes, Or Lamar is their sheer ability jumps of the tape, anyone can see that. But ability is far more common than one Purdy has, "it" is a feel Mahommes has "it" Purdy has "it." I am a musician, there are countless guys out their who can play & play at an extremely high level, but there is very few who can write a hit song, or come up with an timeless riff. There are tons of guys more talented at guitar than Tony Iommi, or Jimmy Page, but that isn't what made them great they had "it" Very few who have "it," "it" is nothing you can measure, "it" is nothing you can develop, "it" is something you are born with, "it" is God given...that is why All glory must go to him. If talent were the be all end all Joe would have never been great & Ja Marcus Russell would have been one of the greatest ever. Cam Newton didn't have "it" he had everything else, he can see "it" in Purdy & he is jealous. Other guys who have "it" can see "it" in him too. Those who have no respect for the divine don't seem to understand there are somethings beyond our control, they fear a world they can't manipulate with metrics.

Brock Purdy works ten times harder than many of those top drafted quarterbacks as he was being drafted at # 262 in 2022. His continuous success with the 49ers is no surprise to us at all, as he keeps working harder every week for consistent progress. He does not take his job for granted. He is the main reason the 49ers are at Vegas today. 31 teams had passed him in the draft, that means 31 teams had no talent for spotting the real talent on Purdy. Picking Purdy to win big tomorrow night is a no brainer, period.

I'm happy CJ ended up in a good situation. Recall that prior to the draft, they were slipping him to QB4 and QB5. He got their attention at the combine. He still should have been the #1 pick. It worked out for the better.

The 49ers are going in this game like gangbusters! Started off slow in both playoff games but they will be on point tonight. 31-17 49ers. Chiefs lost against Packers and Detroit this season both teams we beat in the playoffs. Both of them beat the Chiefs by running and throwing the ball. The key element was that Lions and Packers both established the run game right away to open up the pass game. 49ers need to start the game loading 5 in the box on defense to defend the run and the short passing game of Mahomes. Lock Travis Kelce down and keep pressure on Mahomes and we will win the game.

Love these comments from a guy who obviously knows what it takes to play the position. I’m not sure what has happened to Colin Cowherd and Nick Wright but for some reason they got stuck in a position and just aren’t willing to move off of it. I’m the same age as Colin and the other day he said that he can’t remember a team that has had as much talent as the 49ers? Really? Off the top of my head you’ve got the ‘72-73 Dolphins who were loaded with HOFers on both sides of the line, including a QB in Bob Griese who reminds me a lot of Brock (interesting that his son Brian is Brock’s QB coach), the ‘75-78 Steelers may have had more talent than anyone. Their entire defense once started the Pro Bowl. There’s almost a wing in the HOF for those teams. The Raiders in the ‘70’s were also loaded with HOFers all over the field. Definitely one of the great defensive backfields of all time, as well as a great O-line, HOF receivers, and a HOF QB. The 49ers of the 80’s were ridiculously talented as were the Bills and Cowboys of the 90’s. The Rams (greatest show on turf) were also loaded with talent on both sides of the ball - mostly offense. So, come on, does anyone really get to the SB without a ton of talent around them? When I watch Purdy play, he reminds me of Kurt Warner. He is incredibly accurate, seems to make the right decision almost all the time, and hits his receivers in stride which leads to a ton of YAC. He’s a lot faster than Kurt (although Kurt probably had a stronger arm - although Brock’s is plenty strong). I’m rooting for him and the Niners if for no other reason than to shut up the haters.

Krueg was wrong, Purdy only play game 13 in 2022 after Garroppolo was down, which was only 5 games and 2 playoff games vs. Seahawlks and Cowboys then injured in Eagles Conference Playoff. He was only the starter this season.

The MVP doesn't necessarily mean the best player on the team. The Most Valuable Player is just that. I disagree with Cam Newton saying a 'Game Changer' has to be the 'Best Player' on the team. Too many times, a QB will try to FORCE things to happen by trying to do it 'ALL' by himself. I have news for many people out there, including Cam - be the 'Playmaker' - that's why you are the QB. You get the ball into the hands of your 'Skilled Players' at the right time. A 'Game Manager' is what a QB is: he manages the offense. There is nothing wrong with making the plays that the 'Coaching Staff' brought together. A 'Game Manager' isn't only, "Don't Lose..." but makes the plays that ends up getting the 'Touchdown' or at least a 'Field Goal' at the end of that drive. This has little to do with 'Not Losing' the game, but sticking with that plan which was drawn up. A 'Game Changer' is a 'Game Manager' who does something 'EXTRA' at the right time; and that is when the 'Game Plan' isn't working for 'That Specific Play at That Time'. The 'Game Changer' is able to 'Make Something Happen' from a 'Broken Play'... and succeed. A 'Game Changer' can also 'Change the Game' in a negative sense when he tries to 'Force A Play' unnecessarily and ends up by turning over the ball or doing something to 'Hurt The Team'. Also, a team has 'Skilled Players' called 'Running Backs' that are paid to 'Run The Ball'. The QB should not have to 'Run The Ball', but to give it to the 'Running Back' so that he could do HIS JOB. The QB does not have to nor should be required to 'Run The Ball'. This does not mean that the QB can't run the ball, but make use of 'The Running Back' so that the 'RB' could 'Run The Ball': that's why he's the 'RB'. Also, the QB does not have to 'FORCE' the ball down the field to make a 'Spectacular Play' in order to be a 'Game Changer'. To be a good 'Game Manager', the QB has to be patient...which can be difficult to do. A play can take between 1.75 to 2.5 seconds where the QB has to hold the ball for a moment, then throw it at the right place at the right time. It may seem simple, but 'THEORY' and 'ACTUALITY' are two different things. There is a reason a football team has a 'Coaching Staff' - and an 'Offensive Coordinator' to do the 'Brain Work' BEFORE the game so that during THE GAME, the plays work. Also, the 'Playbook' has 'The Plays' that the team uses. And with the 'Play-Calling', the QB has 'The Option' to make a 'Change' BEFORE the snap if he sees something that 'THE DEFENSE" might be trying to do in order to 'Stop' what 'The Offense' might be trying to do. A 'Game Manager' has that capability as 'Quarterback'. Again, a 'Game Manager' does not have to do anything 'Spectacular' as long as the 'Game-Plan' is working. The BEST QBs were EXCELLENT GAME MANAGERS! The Quarterbacks are the 'MVP's' of the Game: they have to be. That's why I think the "NFL' should do like the 'MLB' where the "MLB' has the 'Cy Young Award' for the 'Pitcher' - because 'The Pitcher' has his hand on all the plays. The QB has his hand in all the 'Offensive Plays'. I believe the NFL should have: 'The Offensive Player' and 'The Defensive Player' Awards as 'Offensive MVP' and 'Defensive MVP' of the game ASIDE from the QB. The NFL should have a Special Award for the 'QB MVP' as well. Also, the 'MVP' doesn't have to be 'The Best Athlete' or 'The Best Player', but he must be 'The Most Valuable Player' by using his skills to help his team WIN GAMES...PERIOD! Enough said.
