@Tjetfire Hey thanks for your reply. I hope your new one flies better than ever! I have flown some of the smaller corsairs and they are very pitch sensitive. Good luck on the new one - can't wait to see a video of it. J

Whenever the wings start rocking, it is telling you that it is on the verger of stalling. Check out some 3D vids, in a harrier some planes wing rock alot because they are flying in a stalled position on the prop. Warbirds are not designed to do this and when those wings are rocking, give it some throttle. Great video and filming hopefully you'll get her fixed soon. BTW, please no music on rc planes - especially when they are radial powered. J

As far as the landing eveyone here has 20/20 eye sight. That being said it looks like she was brought in way to slow and was on the edge of stalling the entire time. Maybe a little less flaps or none at all on the first landing. It also could be not enough down thrust on the engine. I had that same problem with my Stearman which made it very hard to bring in. Did you try the flaps 1st while flying to see how the plane reacted before landing?

Well, I wasn't the pilot, that was my dad, but The Corsair did have a flaps test and everything, but it was a tad bit tail-heavy. This combined with a small gust on landing, and a little slow made it hard to get it to land softly.

Yeah honestly it may have been tail heavy but it kinda looked actually as if its altogether heavy? what was the all up weight of this Corsair? 100" inch span would seem fine considering the smaller span Vailly FW-190 flies well with the same 150 radial. Im just curious what was the all up weight of the model. thanks.

@ToggleAA88 Yes, I know the music drowns out the radial. But, the CJM corsair was overall a heavy bird and was no fun to fly. So much so that my dad,(the one in the vid) has built another one from the Don Smith plans, and is currently flying it and having a ball! Especially since the new one weighs like 15lbs lighter! I'll get the video of the new corsair posted soon

@PC9JEFF As for the music, I am sorry, I made this a while ago, and after some hard drive problems I do not have the raw file for the vid anymore so I cannot fix that. I do know that It was slow, and again I wasnt the one flying it, but the plane weighed upwards of 60lbs, making it very sluggish. The kit was so poorly made that there was tons of excess resin, etc when it arrived. So now there is a new one in construction, but from wood so it should save at least 15-20lbs on it.

Love the airplane but I have to comment on something I am guitly of myself. I want to hear the sound of the engine and the music takes away from the video. If you really want it maybe a little you can't hear the engine or if other aircraft are flying and making noise. How is that RCS 150? I think it's a lot better fit than the 215 for all of these giant scale aircraft. I see guys with 1/3 BUSA Strearman at 1/4 throttle.

Seemed like an ok approach. Speed looked good, but still the wings started waggling. I guess it was the 60 pounds that shot the wing loading to hell. The touchdown didn't seem all that hard, just too much for the landing gear. That plane needs to go on a diet, I think.

How do you fly an airplane that size with rookie skills?
