I used this video to install it on my 2017GT. Almost identical instructions. Took 2 days...Bought about 300.00 in tools I didn't have. Really pleased with install that looks factory. Had an issue with reservoir leaking and they sent another quick and no charge. Just be careful with front fascia or you'll need the latches- go FORD :( Fuel rail bolts were a slight pain. I'm no mechanic but have good mechanical know-how. I'm a PC support tech, but I'd install again in a heartbeat. I'm running the canned tune but getting a better dialed-in dyno-tune in spring. After about 10 street races only losing to a twin turbo stang, the clutch blew up. Upgraded to a 1000HP clutch and have halfshafts already ordered. Overall money well spent for the fun it gives back. I ordered mine from CJP because they made such an awesome video. Bill deserves props.

I gotta say, a couple months after I made some other comments on this video, that last night I stopped at a local late night meet spot to see what cars are out and what's new with setups. A guy had this Edelbrock SC setup on his '18 Mustang 6 speed car. The Edelbrock supercharger looked really nice on his white GT. He said he had the shop who tuned him do the install but he was there. Said it was straight forward and could be done pretty easily if have the time and space. He had headers installed too so he didn't run the base map, just the custom map. This is a great size SC he said as if he wanted to up the boost down the road he can swap pulleys. His car pulls really hard as it is and going to stage 2 would be easy to upgrade to with supporting mods. He is extremely happy with the Edelbrock kit.

For anyone considering any S/C kit with included tune... You must not deviate from their listed aftermarket parts or you risk blowing the motor. At very least car will run very poorly. If included tune says stock cat back exhaust you must use the stock exhaust. Can't swap intakes or alter from their list of parts. Once boosted any change, even minor, requires a custom retune. Most included "base maps" are on rich side to be safe. As it's better than going lean and getting a lean condition and/or knock. Seen many people ruin a good ecu map by changing parts AFTER an ECU map was created.

I agree..but having a couple sc mustangs myself I would use their tune just to get it up and running then take it to a tuner and do a dyno tune to make it safe and better power curves etc specifically for how you are going to run your car... are you a road racer , drag racer , daily driver , whatever it is a custom tune is the way to go... both my cars I have 3 saved tunes on my laptop I can download for what I want. I use two mostly the pump gas tune and race tune gas max power tune for the strip. Both tunes developed on a dyno. Only way to go and be safe.

Nearing the end of my install and have to admit this video was super helpful. Few things that had me confused were the Edelbrock instructions listed 4 harnesses to unplug on the back of the stock intake manifold... My 21 has only 3. I found installing the fuel rails after would have been easier, the rear isn't as tight as expected and they were hard to manage on the blower getting the bolts in. Overall everything went well, great job and although the instructions that came with the blower are good I dont think I would have been able to do as easily as I did without the video.

@bluecollardaily26765 жыл бұрын
I'm glad to get this video, everything you mentioned as being tough my ASE installer had said months ago, so now I know for sure he was being honest haha!!!! I've had this blower a while it's a capable piece and looks like Ford installed it at the factory ( especially in stage 1 using the factory airbox). I have taken my car in for tint ect and those performance oriented guys WITH FBO e85 mustang's didnt even know it was on there with my stock exhaust. I have the old man sleeper going...this blower, ceramic tint that not real dark, stock exhaust, slightly upgraded tires... This kit also has a bleeder in the bypass hose that delays boost and Torque delivery so that you can actually USE the power it makes. The effect is something of a centri/PD hybrid on my 19 A10, however this is adjustable by buying N20 jets I found a .040 orifice to be a great blend to get into boost at part throttle and hold it longer..this makes a 28 inch tire, 3.15 gear car feel a bit more spirited. I've always knocked PD blowers in the past for how hard they all to USE their torque which is their strong point elegant simply solution. I've dont this a much more complex way with PWM 3 way valves in the part ( but I was doing boost by gear and had it tied into traction control deltas). Stage 2 goes on my car today and I cant wait to compare. My main gripe is that I feel like I was done wrong on that who deal, this weekend one could have gotten a stage 2 for about same price as I paid for Stage 1 a few months back. And stage 2 "upgrade" is $4750 ( stage 1 this weekend was $7100 with rebate ), I've got almost 12k in the same exact setup not counting double labor. I feel like I should have gotten a voucher for the cost difference between 1 and 2 as late as my purchase was and all the problems getting my parts both times, missing install windows and sale only have 2100 miles on install, engine is fine and doesnt use a drop of motorcraft 5w50. That's just my sour grapes and bad luck on timing for pricing, I urge anyone considering this kit to pay the 1800 differential between the stage 1 and stage 2 full kits. You cannot every remotely piece it together cheaper. The 8 rib conversion purchased alone is $1750, tb is $850( remember it's a new Edelbrock digital piece for the 18 and ups no conversion box this isnt a bad price, 113mm maf horn and aftermarket cone filter in a nice looking sealed box is around $800 ( I think dont quote me on that one). Just buy stage 2 going in and your getting well into the 700s for a very good price and capable of 1000whp when you want to take the training wheels off. The Stage 2 kit is also warranted, if you havent previous voided warranty on your car before installing. Making it the most powerful warranted kit ever produced from literally the first name in performance ( do you think Edelbrock is going out of business in the next 3 years to 36k miles? I don't) a truly unique kit and hands down their 15388 kit is the best bang for the buck on the market when you factor in power with a warranty along with headroom to grow, its stealthy silent till your really on it and impacts the driveability and mileage almost none...barely deductible till you want it to be..... Any questions just ask, but I implore you not to get stage 1 and then upgrade get stage 2 even if you have to wait another month, it wasn't an option at the time for me but it's a no brainer. $1800 or less upfront and 1 install or $4750 on the backend and labor for 2 installs... Thanks Shawn.

Love this kit and I'm trying to pull the trigger on one but I need some answers. I'd like to start with Stage 1 and upgrade from there. I want to run e85 and I've already got TSP catless long tube headers, JLT & x-pipe. I know the JLT will no longer work but I want to utilize my exhaust. My shop is researching stuff now but I'd like to know if I should go with a No-tune setup or the one with the tune? If the shop does an e85 tune, what injectors would I need? Does the Stage 1 use the stock TB or just a smaller one? I know the Stage 2 includes a 113mm TB. Thanks in advance.
@cjponyparts5 жыл бұрын
Dustin G if you have catless headers you will need a custom tune. As far as running on E85 that requires a custom tune anyway and you would want to go with at least ID1050s. Stage 2 has the larger throttle body and airbox setup. If you go that route your fueling needs will depend on your tuner but most likely you would want to step up to a division X DI pump too
@dustingre85 жыл бұрын
@@cjponyparts That makes sense. So I should opt for the "No Tune" kit then, correct? My tuner told me that his only concern is aquiring correct mapping that will keep me from running too lean. I also learned why a boosted setup prevents the ability to go with a flex tune, which makes sense. Can this tune be done on a dyno or will I need to get someone like PBD or Lund to send me a custom tune? My tuners biggest concern is the stage 1 TB because that affects the tunes alot. The way I see it, a stage 1 setup with long tube headers & e85 should put down plenty of power...but I am trying to ask all the questions I can now before I start ordering parts.

I don’t like seeing power adders bolted on and using the stock air box and exhaust manifolds. It needs headers and a cone filter. Choking it
@cjponyparts5 жыл бұрын
Both are very efficient on this platform and can maker over 700 hp. The stage 2 kit includes a new airbox and throttle body for even more power but maxes the fuel system.
@traekiser2135 жыл бұрын
I don’t disagree with that, but I never like to see boost on stock exhaust manifolds. The air box isn’t that big of a deal. But Cross plane engines need headers so the first cylinder and last cylinder to fire on the same bank aren’t fighting to scavenge exhaust. Sorry, wasn’t trying to be a super negative keyboard warrior. I should’ve just said “headers please” or something. Still a great build
@dustingre85 жыл бұрын
I agree Trae'. No way I'm putting my stock manifolds back on...So I've got a few questions I'd love if somebody can answer. 1. If I want to use my TSP Longtube headers & borla switchfire midpipe it is apparent that I need a custom tune. I assume that means I would opt for the "no tune" kit. So because I want to use headers & need that custom tune, does it mean I won't get a warranty? 2. Does anybody make an aftermarket cone style intake that can be used on the Stage 1 instead of the stock box? I currently have a JLT and I know it won't fit this kit but I do NOT want to go back to my stock box. I also do not see where you can purchase the Stage 2 intake kit separately. Possible to just custom cut the JLT to fit? Would that be possible to tune? 3. Since I already need a custom tune because of the headers & likely intake, I considered adding some 1050x injectors and doing an e85 tune. Good idea or no? This make me lose my warranty? Would it matter if the answer to the above question results in a loss of warranty anyway?
