Whipple Supercharged Mustang GT 6 month update...

In todays video we catch up with my friend Shaq who has a 2018 Mustang GT with a Whipple supercharger to see how things have been since he has had the supercharger installed and also we take a ride to see how the stage two Whipple kit feels. This is a great power adder for anyone in California as it is carb legal and provides great power numbers.

I have all 3. Root style instant tq but dies up top compared to other 2. Centrifugal leanier power from beginning to top and pulls up top. Turbos which has come a long way. Alittle lag. The pulls hard all the way to the top. Pulls the hardest at the top

If it is tuned right you can put as many turbos as you want. I’m not a fan of turbos, if there’s a leak it could start a fire. My moms Mercedes has a turbo, the gasket blew and there was a leak. Im surprised it didn’t catch on fire. Any… have fun always.. Chris

Get vmp supercharger. I have a gen 2r making about 750whp. Get the gen 3 or the new Odin vmp. I have never been in a whipple but from every one I have talk to say the vmp is better down low. The vmp has power right away. Where the whipple power band is a little higher.

Felt bad for the gen 3 coyote being revved so low. If you have the money to buy that kind of bolt on power how about you put the money into the transmission so you won't worry it'll blow??? With how he babies and shifts that thing I feel like my stock 2019 GT would run laps around him ""MAYBE"". To me it looks like a waste of money for how he drives it. BUT in the end he seems happy with his build and Im happy for him, I just have trouble rationalizing the whole thing.

Ya that thing sounds nasty, I love it. Got to be able to slap some rpms on that baby though. Try more highway driving to get the feel of it in off peak hrs. Weekends and stuff. Take some long drives and what not.

I have 3.73's w/6 spd.. way too much.. it's a toss up to start in 2nd. like 2 secs in 1st then shift. I'm considering 3.3's with a blower would be abt right for a manual.

Whipple tune is stupid conservative without headers maybe 600 wheel 615 tops. Stage 2 whipple tune dynoed 600. Custom tune am around 715 on 91

Don’t boost it; you don’t want the headaches that so many people have had with blowing the 18+ motors. Get catted headers, Xpipe, larger throttle body and retune. Youll get another 30-40 hp at the mid and top end.

Mine has been boosted for almost 3yrs with 46,000 miles on it and zero issues. The only time you get issues is when you skimp on the build. You can’t throw boost at a car and forget to upgrade the rest of the drivetrain. The 18 and newer 5.0 will handle 650-675hp all day with a little extra attention to the fuel pump and oil Pump. Anything over that and your asking for failure without upgrading the internals especially if you drive it daily. Also 3.73 gears is the way to go 3.55 is trash with a 6 speed car.

I was browsing KZbin because I was getting ready to drop a Whipple supercharger in my 2015 Mustang and I can’t believe the comments that I’m seeing. They are either two things going on.There are people here with lots of money who can just go through cars like people go through toilet paper or they have never had a real fast vehicle and they don’t know what they’re talking about. What I saw by the driver is exactly how you treat a vehicle with a supercharger if you’re not racing for competition to make money. There’s no reason for him to excessively stress his engine out and put everything to its limit and cross his fingers that it all holds up. My first drivers license was a German drivers license and my first experience with true speed was cruising along in a 911 at 160 miles an hour on the Audubon while my employer casually talked as if we were taking a leisurely drive. I have since been well over 200 miles an hour and it may be exciting when you get to that level of speed but There are many things that can fail and end your life before you can react. It is obvious there are many people posting here that have no clue.

gnarly caveman it keeps on the secondary fan for the radiator on at all times, my temps climb to 216° with the AC off, when it’s on it doesn’t move past 190°. So I’m assuming that’s why

The supercharger and whipple’s tune is carb compliant. Any other tune is illegal in California. Same thing for roush. Their supercharger and tune is legal in California but once you tune with other tuners it becomes illegal and not carb compliant. People go to other tuners for more power

Checkout the stage 2 Edelbrock kit. I have it on my 2019 manual. 686 rwhp and a total sleeper. Plus you get a warranty
