Love that you came back for a follow up on this knife, I got one about a month ago and love it. I know exactly what you mean about feeling the bearings roll, it's an oddly specific sensation, but it does even out fairly quickly with a drop of oil.

Subscribing for the wear and tear on the blades alone. Sick of knife reviews with knives that have clearly not been used. Thanks to your review and the price points I got both 😅

Nice breakdown of both knives. After placing my order on 1/19/23 for my KnifeCenter Exclusive Pyrite I just got word today (02/28/23) that it shipped. Can't wait to carry it and see if it fits in my rotation. Keep up the Great work.

I bought an original Elementum on a whim. Drawn to the look and size for EDC. I instantly fell in love with the fit, finish and action. The button lock version came out and it perked my interest but the larger size and the missing bolster, flip tab made me pause. I did want to try a button lock so I picked up a pyrite. I agree with your assessment of both. The action on the Elementum is much better, but I did find I like a button lock, especially for closing vs the spring lock. I'm still breaking in the pyrite, its slower. I'm still partial to the Civivi, but will carry both. I will probably pick up an original Elementum with a button lock.

I have the Civivi Elementum in blue. I just got it last night lol I felt like the only guy who didn’t own one. Lol I buy excellent budget knives under $60 and am shocked at how good some of these knives from China are. Ganzo are incredible knives and Civivi. I carry the RAT 1 as my EDC tank knife, I’ve beat it and it still works. I have a few RR pocket knives, cheap but look good and work!! I have 5 Buck a couple Kershaw, CRKT all inexpensive but extremely well made for my liking and budget. Anyway keep up the good videos because I will watch 👍🏻✌🏻

Yes! Budget knives are extremely nice these days. It seems they are releasing cool knives everyday. Sometimes it’s really hard to choose. My collecting habits have changed significantly since I started my obsession with knives and I have moved most of my budget knives on to other people, however, I have kept my Elementums and some Kizers.

I have the Knife Center exclusive and a black g10 one and love them both. You can help the “detent” by stretching the spring under the button just a little. That might help the rattle also. The rattle may also be the open position blade stop pin. Sometimes the holes in the scales are just a little too deep which gives the pin a little room to move. You can put something small in one end of the pin hole or put some lube in the hole which has helped a couple of my knives. Also looks like you have a good Marvel collection going.

I own multiples of both knives along with the kizer cormorant ,my pyrite has no rattle whatsoever ,I think you will find if you stretch the spring it gives you a much better detent as for the rattle I think you need to find what's moving and it won't take much to fix the grittiness disappears once the bearing cut a track along the grooves that they run on then it becomes glassy smooth both my pyrites are considerably smoother than my elementums hope your pyrite gets smoother the more you use it

i have both but hands down the pyrite is the best button lock on the market in my opinion (2023). I find the ratio / size of the knife and thumb action is perfect, coupled with a classic blade and handle shape. id say the only thing that is just as satisfying to me is probably the vosteed valkyrie. I do NOT think civivi's button locks are as great as the competition and that is because they have an indent in the button (as opposed to a rounded button like on, say, kizers) that forces you to have to push your thumb in a little harder than is necessary. It makes pushing the button more of a chore when it should be fun. Having said that, i've swapped the spring from a civivi chevalier with that on the kizer original, which improved the kizer's feeling considerably.
