I feel a lot of people struggle with moving around tackle zones in an efficient way and how to get a 2 die block where you want it. Thanks for the great guides.

Nice tutorial which will help new players for sure. Something which i think will help a lot of people is the positionning of players and particularly during team setup for attack and defence. About where to put your players to defend correctly but not be at risk and where you should put them in some situations like a last turn against a violent team where you would like to protect your team from injuries. Or simply mentionning to avoid putting a player on the border of the field :D

Suggestion: The guide might benefit from adding a caption at 1:20 explaining that GFI means Going For It, and this will be covered later, which I take it you will at some point =) gulf and hoof

+lovfro I think he explained GFIs in chapter one (and said "never ever do that")
@lovfro9 жыл бұрын
+Sacha “The Psychocat” Raphard I watched chapter one as well, but couldn't remember. I do remember now, due to the "never, ever, do that" quote. =) Chances are that some who are new to BB might have forgotten. I believe in any case, that since this is a beginners guide, explaining the shorthand is always relevant.

+lovfro if people dont know what GFI means, they need to go watch the first video or look it up, he cant re-explain EVERYTHING every video
@lovfro9 жыл бұрын
+Chyrnobyl66 You are correct, but your assumption is wrong. I don't recommend repeting everything in every video. Standard usage in teaching situations is to repeat three times. Remember, the point here is to make it easy for new comers to understand, expecting them to remember and understand new concepts after being introduced to them once, seems counter-productive to me.

One vital part I would add when you explain movement is how it is handled when they're standing up after being knocked down. It's for me one of the major reasons why ma4 is so much worse than 6 for example. Also explains why a treeman has a hard time standing up.

Great work man, could you do some advanced guide? I really like Blood Bowl 2, but i hate to spend a hour in a match and realize that i will lose. It gets too frustrating. Tanks

Perhaps it should be clarified that had Sweetney followed in that last block example, he would still be able to assist another block as the downed player in his tackle one will not prevent an assist.

What's the general tactict in this game? To knock ppl down and then run the ball? As a NFL fan it seems like passing the ball is such a huge risk and running the ball I'd have to have the whole damn team escort my runner.
@zephyrbiscuit45478 жыл бұрын
That's dependent on the team. Elves pass Orcs run.
@spoonlamp8 жыл бұрын
+Mrfniss It depends on your team make up, but a "cage" is pretty typical. Put the ball carrier in the middle of a 9 square box and put 4 escorts at the corners to make the cage. Everyone else defends or blitzes into the other team to make a path.
@ares1069 жыл бұрын
it is actually pretty easy and intuitive.

Though it gives a lot of flavour to use the individual players names, it might be easier to understand if you just used the players general role as identification, otherwise great guide.

Is there a hotkey for displaying all tackle zones on the field?
@kloaf11318 жыл бұрын
At the end you could have followed up though. Since he fell down wouldn't that still free up the linemen for the two die block on the last chaos member. I thought downed members tackled zones didnt count. Im still fairly new at Blood Bowl but I have played 3 games (only won once so far but was out match twice :( )
@aslandus8 жыл бұрын
+Kenneth Borges They don't, but staying in place could be useful in holding the line
@kloaf11318 жыл бұрын
aslandus I have actually been doing that alot in my games. Im still having trouble scoring with orcs. Im having trouble with the whole cage concept. but when on offence I do do the whole bash down the whole line and stay just to prevent them from being able to get retaliation bashes without having to move into tackle zones. I just wanted to make sure I was correct in my thinking.
@NavyDragons8 жыл бұрын
as orcs early it would be more beneficial for you to form a cage with your blitzers since they have block and send your black orcs out to clean the way since they have an easier time getting 2 dice blocks while your blitzers hold the line and protect the ball carrier with the block. if they attempt to break your cage they have a 33%chance to succeed(2/6) meanwhile while moving your cage forward you have a 16.7% chance to fail(1/6) and your black orcs have a 55.6% chance to knock down their target with double dice(once they have block it goes up to 75%(this can vary ofcourse if your opponent has block dodge or both)
@lucasmatias90219 жыл бұрын
I really get messy about the skills, because my english ins't that good applied to the vocabulary of the rules whith the dice dynamic.

Wait, wait, wait, at 12:56 that is actually true? Downed players still give tackle zones? If so, how about if they are stunned, does it make any difference?
@atomtime3236 жыл бұрын
isak oskal downed players can be picked up when it's their turn thus creating tackle zones
@souldude1519 жыл бұрын
Question, does having more than one players tackle zone overlapping an enemy further reduce their chance to dodge? Because it seems like it should, but it doesn't appear to.
@MWBalls9 жыл бұрын
+souldude151 The number of tackle zones in the square they are dodging into matters, the number in the square they are dodging out of does not.
@psynque8 жыл бұрын
They do not. Dodging out of a tackle zone is a straight Ag-roll. However if you are dodging into multiple tackle zones they do stack.
@yunosh84739 жыл бұрын
I know this is kinda vauge, but how about a "do's & don't" for new players
@yunosh84739 жыл бұрын
+Yunos H Like action order priorities, do you use a reroll if you fail to pick the ball etc (Vague, was mispelled )
@gray007nl9 жыл бұрын
+Yunos H You reroll the pick-up if you think your opponent can reach the ball the next turn or prevent from making a cage, for example if the ball is kicked deep into your half and your playing against the dwarf team you can just let it fail, no way in hell they're going to get there before your next turn, but if the ball is kicked short or your playing against a very fast team (especially Skaven) you should probably reroll.

I think you forgot the weird, but possible to get three dice block
@souldude1519 жыл бұрын
+León González Your attacker needs more than 2x the target's strength to get 3 dice. So a 5 strength dude attacking a 2 strength player will result in 3 dice.
@rickslion9 жыл бұрын
I know it's hard to get a 3 dice, it mostly happens when a big guy block a skink, a goblin or a halfling

How good are my chances of succeeding a dodge if I have 3 agility? I'm guessing 50%? But how does this chance when compared to a character with 4 agility? Or 2? And will this apply to picking up the ball as well?
@Xinderkan9 жыл бұрын
+Oscar S A basic dodge roll is an AG roll with a +1 bonus. That means: AG1 makes the roll on a 5+ or has a 33% chance. AG2 on a 4+ or 50% AG3 on a 3+ or 66% AG4 on a 2+ or 83%

I've been watching a lot of bloodbowl, and from interest in the game I now feel that I am reasonably experienced, however from not owning the game myself I don't actually know what the blocker does, I know others but very few seem to play humans so could someone more experienced please explain the blockers and their skills?
@orko41859 жыл бұрын
+Ben Heath Blockers in all teams are those pieces that are most suitable to attack(block). These all have the skill at start Block, which will make it more likely to succeed on an attack on another player. This means these are the ones you will want to use your blitz action in play for the important attacks. like hitting the ball carrier or opening up the cage. Or blasting a gap in the defensive line. In the case of the Humans they have the skill Block but one less movement than the lineman. But Blitzer also get Strength access. So they are very likely to get skills that help with hurting players. But if you take another team like the Dark Elves. Their blitzer also start with block and stat line of 7 3 4 8, but no stenght access but aggi-skill access. So they are less bashy but more versatile in handling the ball from their agg and the possible skills. But dark elves also have the special which elve which is also very good for blocking but less reliable in that since they don't start with block.

@Chyrnobyl669 жыл бұрын
+lCore17 he suggests fumbbl the same thing he always suggests you lazy fuck :p the short answer, however is 4 blitzers, 4 blockers, 3 linemen, 2 rerolls (i think thats right). You can mess with it a bit, but you want 4 blitzers regardless.
@lCore179 жыл бұрын
Chyrnobyl66 I was talking about skill build and not starting team. Also I can't use fumbbl because their Knights (blitzers) have GS allowance instead of GP :( .
@IdentityChrist9 жыл бұрын
+Chyrnobyl66 You can also buy 3 rerolls and a lineman instead of a Blitzer, since rerolls cost more after team creation. Once you get enough money, replace your lineman with a Blitzer and enjoy 3 rerolls.
