Yes!! Wake your baby up! My baby girl slept through the night and I let her! When I took her in for her 1 week check up, she lost 2 pounds! The pediatrician freaked out! He had me wake her every 2 hours and breast feed her. Now she’s 21 and perfect ♥️

Couldn’t agree more. The pedi will let you know when the baby is at a healthy enough weight to let them sleep through the night.

Agreed, we had to wake babies (twins) every 3 hours to eat until they hit a certain weight (doctor told us when to stop). Now we let the babies tell us when they are hungry (within 2-4 hour window).

I have awful acid reflux and have learned a few things: -Don't eat tomatoes for dinner -don't lie down for three hours after eating -I mix 1/8 teaspoon ginger with 1 teaspoon baking soda (or two unmedicated alkaseltzer tablets) in 20 ounces of water and keep that water bottle next to my bed. It's the only thing that helps the nighttime heartburn. -Don't underestimate the power of prescription meds, talk to your doctor for help there.

You only need to wake up your baby to eat in the first 1-2 weeks until they get back to their birth weights. Some babies take longer to get back to their birth weights, which could signal a feeding/nutrition problem. Older babies will absolutely wake up when they’re hungry. Little newborn babies literally don’t have enough energy to wake up when they’re hungry which is why you have to do it!!

Newborn stage, they do need to eat, even when they don't wake for it on their own. They can only take a small amount of nutrition in every few hours, which they need and rely on. After the newborn stage, unless there is a failure to thrive diagnosis or they were premature, you can let them sleep. Our 5th & 6th children (twins) were preemies, needing frequent feeds, so we did wake them to eat much longer than our older, full-term babies, who could be left to sleep for longer stretches after about 5 to 6 weeks.

They will take you through the training in CPR for baby & adult and it is actually kind of fun to learn! (and quite a bit of a workout!). If I can give any advice, try really hard to put your baby on a schedule. It may be a little hard at first but having a set schedule REALLY helps! Also, be sure to research for how to care for your body AFTER birth. I wasn't personally prepared for that and it's alot! Also, your hair will likely fall out after birth so don't be alarmed. It's completely normal. I can't believe you are almost to the finish line! ❤

Dont be so hard on yourself about food and acid reflux in pregnancy. I had twins in May, by third trimester everything caused it. Tip ... Don't feed the baby flat ... Like you said their air passages are open and so is their sinuses and ear canals ... They don't close till later ... It will either keep them from getting ear infections or help with fewer ear infections ... I didn't ever feed mine flat and they never in their lives have had an ear infection ...

Delivery is never like the movies, where they have to rush to the hospital, especially with the first baby, so don't panic when it's time. What the norm is hours of early labor, not even sure you are in labor, unless your water breaks. You labor for hours at home until contractions are steady and so far apart for about an hour, per your OB who will factor in your distance from the hospital. Then when you go to the hospital, you get admitted. Common for labor to slow down when you get to the hospital, then you usually still have many hours there before time to deliver.

I don’t know for my last pregnancy (currently pregnant) I started having contractions at 6am and thought I had a ways to go but I ended up barely making it to the hospital in time 😬 it was totally like a movie! If you can avoid it, you really don’t want to be on any prazoles daily… they aren’t meant to be used long-term, try to get by with famotidine if you can.

Is Walter coming with your mom when she’s staying in the Air BnB after the baby is born, or staying with your dad? I’ve had that level of reflux that I wake up and barely make it to the toilet to projectile vomit. Magnesium carbonate right before bed greatly helps.

@@ClancyBurkeXFor the crate dilemma, I gated off my office that doubles as the dog room since they hang out with me during the day while I work. It keeps them contained to a room but not crated. I bought a metal gate that uses screws to create tension on the door trim. They work really well and look pretty good for what they are. I make a “tea” for my bedtime drink of warm water, a little honey, and flavorless powdered magnesium carbonate. Also makes me drowsy and helps me sleep.

I hate milk but I drink it when I have acid reflux. I get it usually in the middle of the night & it’s bad. Try milk. Omg. Look how big Asher is. I always wash & dry my before appt & I leave with my hair wet. I do it at home & it costs is 150.

How did you train Asher to be out of his crate for an hour? I get so worried mine will eat everything or chew on something and swallow fabric lol - do you have a pet monitor for him? :)

I’ll be honest that every dog is so different. Growing up we had a dog who would quite literally eat the couch lol Asher just doesn’t have that desire BUT…I would never trust him to not eat small things. I puppy proof the house when we leave as much as possible!!

I like these videos of my life in a week if I'm saying it correctly. Asher and a baby gate is so much better than a crate, he is doing great. First delivery takes the longest ask me how I know lol I am a mother of 3 and I went natural with my births My last pregnancy was high risk and I had my son very prematurely. I never woke him up at night ever and he had serious medical problems and was in the nick u unit for 2 months. He is 6ft and 26 years old now, and such an amazing wonderful man. You may wanna have a food serves that does freezer to oven meals after delivery because you will be on a high at first and then sleep when your baby sleeps because you will be exhausted 😴 God Bless Sincerly Melody

Introducing Asher to baby is crucial. Zack needs to carry baby in the house. You will hug Asher and tell him you missed him. Zack needs to give Asher something with the baby smell on it. Asher needs to see and smell baby. Never push Asher away or lock him away from you and baby. I took classes on this with our dog trainer. My friends who freaked out and didn’t want the dog with baby or set really strict boundaries had big issues with their animals. Dogs protect their little humans. I taught this to my daughter and all my dogs still protect them when they come here. The last grandson Bodhi, he’s 4 now, his father would not follow my suggestions at their home. Now Bodhi does not like the dog and the dog doesn’t know how to interact with him. Unfortunately the dog spends a lot of time crated or outside. I’m not happy. I have two large dogs. 9 and 6 years old. They were introduced to my little grandson at 7 days old. They smelled him, laid by him etc. they are best buds when he comes here. He treats them, plays ball with them, and they guard him by the pool. His father regrets his stance. I also feel extremely sad for the dog and my grandson. They will never be friends or best buddies. Of course every family has their own ideas. When his dad isn’t home, the dog is out of the crate and they are getting a bit better. Good luck, I know you do your research and you will do what’s right for your family. Great vlog except swallowing your stuff🤮. I was indeed eating. I gagged😆

we didn't follow it because it is a new thing I wasn't told that when I had my first child in 1997 who was 10.3 lbs. When i had my last in 2010 they said it was important. I didn't because by that time I had 4 kids. My sister-in-law woke up her sons and she regretted it because they didn't sleep through the night until over a year. I slept on the couch with my two youngest but I am also a very light sleep even today my youngest will sneeze upstairs in her room and I'm up going upstairs to check on her. Everyone is different but I am a child of 70s and lived but today you have all these doctors saying this or that it comes down to once your baby is here you will find your own routine and you will find your motherly instinct.

I had no idea pregnancy nose was a thing until it happened to me!! Omg it was horrible and so embarrassing, lol! There was no hiding it whatsoever 😂. It did thankfully go back down for the most part, but not 100% for me bc it was so bad!

I asphyxiated all throughout my 3 trimester. It was awful. It feels like razor blades. I had to get a prescription for acid reflux. It can be very very dangerous so please get checked and prop yourself up!
