You're describing an epiphany akin to discovering that within any crowd, these people are smarter than you (at something), and you are smarter than everyone here (at something). Somewhere along the road called modern life, we quit learning basics from our grandparents and parents, who abdicated general life skills to the schools ... but the schools don't really care for the future or well-being of the students, because their mandate is to create automatons, brainless and obedient, for factory jobs. Dr. Peterson has chosen to help anyone that will listen, that there are centuries old truths, like each person has value and you don't need some acronym to define what kind of person you are. His talks are content rich enough, there's something to help everyone improve.

I simply can not put into words the ways in which you have changed my life for the better. It is through your words and your attempts to convey the truth that has allowed me to pursue it in my own right. I know in your humility you would deflect my admiration and point it towards the great thinkers that came before you. Watching this on KZbin, I started crying when he mentioned the example of being at a music concert and someone comes up to you and says, "you know this is going to end, right?" I've been struggling with suicidal thoughts for the past year, and depression for much, much longer than that. My sense of self worth has eroded over many years, losing weight is really difficult, and made all the more so because I stress-eat. As a really little kid, I remember always loving life, and these days I struggle to find anything worth really enjoying. I got in to the Food Industry right out of highschool because I hated learning, in highschool, and just wanted a way to apply myself rather than talk about theoreticals and math equations that 90% of us students would never use. I hope Jordan Peterson's words can touch others like it does me, and at least start a spark of life in us as a society again.
@newfreenayshaun66516 ай бұрын
Get the hell out of the food business, it's dying anyway. It'll be the best part of bettering yourself and absolutely refuse to go back. I would never accept that sort of self torture again, this is your universe. Do everything in your power to start a business or something in the direction that you really want your life to go. After all, we could all have been dead by now and this man is trying to encourage us to be the difference we want to see in the world. Go. Do.

I see posts on twitter of parents that can't understand why their children won't stop playing video games and won't leave the house. When they ask the kids they seem happy and don't understand there's a problem. The parents don't understand why their kids don't want to work or have a girlfriend or a car or a life. They can't get a job and move out and be an adult they're perpetually trapped in childhood. They want to sit in a room and look at a computer screen. It's the weight of the world and the lack of real dreams. Lack of real goals in life. The room is safe. The computer can be controlled and choices can be made. It ends up being enough for them and they don't recognize the problem. Millions of people are trapped in this hell.

Kids do what they do because parents don't parent. That's the #1 reason our countries are being so easily destroyed by the ruling elite. For generations now kids by in large have not been parented. Have not been taught rules. Have not been taught boundaries. Have not been taught self reliance and responsibility. Have not been taught what freedom and liberty is. Have not been taught is takes WORK that involves discomfort to keep that liberty. Instead parents gift them into digital dimentia with phones and tablets because that's easier than being a parent. Likely because the parent is too themselves addicted to the screens and don't want to take time with the kids. A nest for evil and tyranny has been made very comfortable.

May Jordan get to have an encounter that opens his eyes to Our Father in heaven and learn to walk and talk with Him along life's road. Every child that does so, is blessed and it is exactly when we realize His ways and plans are way better than the foolish ones we have for ourselves. We did not ask to be here, He placed us here. For His purpose. The Lord invites us to a life full of meaning. As a Father wrestles with His children He invites all who seek meaning to wrestle with and get to know Him.

Now i have to choose between sleeping or watching this. Definitely a compilation of topics that i need.
@davida.heffley44746 ай бұрын
Best to keep watching. If the topic is needed, to be understood, then the time is now. Later may be too late for useful interaction. Doctor Peterson usually delivers more information than he will ever know.

@@davida.heffley4474 Why? Sure it's an important video. But isn't taking proper care of yourself to be the best version of you is among Dr Peterson's core teachings? Especially since he begins this presentation with Rule no2. A proper sleep is the foundation of our next day. And habitually a lot more. Sure an up to 20 min strong message can be a great thought to carry us into dreams. But on this scale saving it for tomorrow where it doesn't break our sleep schedule and we can allocate the proper time and attention is the more responsible path IMHO.

Everytime I zone out or miss something it’s sooo hard to just go back 10 seconds lol there’s so much context and soo much packed in that you HAVE to go back to wherever you were 😂 anyone else stuggling like that??

You're building up a new vernacular. A new lexicon of thought. As you experience it further, you begin to grapple with these ideas in a more seamless fashion. I know this because you just describe to me what it felt like what I first started listening to JP in 2017.

@@markmurphy3462 iv been listening for a few years but I was struggling A LOT when my brother showed him to me and through it all I’ve slowed down a lot and gone through even more but I’m over a year clean from drugs so I’ve had progress I just feel soo incredibly in debt to everyone that it crippled me to even try to pay it back sometimes.

I love these so much. Please release more of the tour. The interviews are great but I would pay for the privilege of hearing every single tour stop for Beyond Order and We Who Wrestle With God.

29:00 Bob Proctor said something very similar. If you don't decide what you want (make an affirmed decision) then you'll be lucky if you get something closely related to what you might have wanted. RIP. Make an affirmed decision!

You are bringing to life for me the Holy Spirit more strongly and clearly and more inspiring than for sure all of the priests, me being a Catholic, that I see in my churches, but in some real sense also any priest that I have found, e.g. online. What a miracle to have found you. Maybe that's a sad statement of the Church, because we need this so desperately, considering our totalitarian hedonistic culture today.

It’s unfortunate to see that most of these new public lectures are now behind the daily wire plus platform. When they were free they were so inspirational! Glad to see this.

My jaw dropped at the end. Literally. This is one of the most powerful lectures I’ve come across. It opened me eye I replayed certain parts just to understand clearly. I do believe we were all just in the presence of greatness. I don’t mean that lightly, if Freud, Jung, Roberts we’re the fore fathers of psychology, Jordan is the light bearer thereof. Thank you Jordan.
