Did you guys not watch the whole video? Right in the introduction, he says that a lot of interpreters are asked to work in different religious settings. While most of it is evangelists trying to convert other people, and while I don't agree with their message, I understand that it's still a part of the customer base.

there is a big mistake on your video the guy keeps saying translation or translated and its not the case, It is interpretation which i'm sure you know is spoken and translated is written.

Yes, we do know the difference between translation and interpretation. The speaker in this video did not, but that is part of interpreting! The target speaker doesn't always say the correct thing. As interpreters it is not our job to correct the speaker or clean up their errors. Maybe that makes this better for practicing!

This message is objective truth and is rooted in philosophical and historical realities. That was the most horrendous attempt to sneak a religious message in a video completely unrelated to religion. Not everybody shares your beliefs and you should keep them to yourself in a video that's unrelated. If you wanted to specially address religious dogma and how to translate, it you should do it professionally on another video with an appropriate title, this was a disgusting attempt at indoctrination.

Thank you @Vegeta4693214 This practice video is a very common message that is interpreted everyday in multiple languages. The Christian message of Jesus is one of the most interpreted religious messages due to the fact that one of Jesus's last commands to his followers (disciples) was to share this good news of his saving love with people from all nations. If you have some other examples of frequently interpreted messages you would like to see let us know!

@@ClarityInterpreting You don't have to spread their message for them, sneaking it into another video. And, like I said, you could make a properly labeled video about that. It's not about Christianity and it's message, it's about trying to sneak it in under the table. Communism is also a very talked topic with difficult language, why don't you make a video about it. I'd love to see it.

​@@vegeta4693214 part of being an interpreter is keeping your personal opinion and political ideology to yourself. You will work with some people whose views won't completely align with yours, yet you'll have to make sure you interpret their words to the client exactly how they speak it. I'm a practising Muslim, so if anything, I should be the one offended by this video. Yet I'm not. A country in the west like the USA will definitely have active Christian evangelism. Christian organisations continuously pour money to spread their ideology inside and outside America, some of that money gets spent on interpreters. I personally wouldn't participate in spreading Christianity, but a lot of people would. Not necessarily because they believe in the message, but because they want the money.
