I love that the Father in-law who gave Clark shit the entire movie, stood up and stared his boss down. Either he sympathized with Clark as a blue collar working man, or despite all the bitching, he truly views him as family and worthy of respect.

6:52 Art: That was despicable, mister. That seemed like something I would have done to Clark. I have given him a lot of shit every year. I mean, I hated him. But right now, something deep down in my gut tells me that I shouldn't hate him at all. In fact, I really don't. I love him. I stand by my son-in-law. 6:54 Clark Sr.: I stand by my son. As much as I love Clark's rant in the first scene, one of the things I appreciated about the second scene where he confronts his boss is that while he doesn't mince words, he's speaking to him more respectfully than he was in his earlier rant to his family. He admitted that he took things too far, but was still justified in letting his boss know how he felt, and it literally paid off!

I can't complain. I got my xmas bonus this year. We are one of the few companies in the financial industry that made it safe through this year. We even managed to make profit. I used my xmas bonus to buy gifts for friends who have not been so lucky. Especially, two lovely children (girls, aged 5 and 6) will receive from me the toys they wished for. Actually, if Eddie hadn't actually broken the laws and abducted Clark's boss, Clark would be fucked. His credit rating would be zero. As much as Eddie meant trouble, one must admit this move made a difference.

@@MrFTBL2000 because people with the "if you don't like it, then leave" attitude fail to understand that changing jobs is not as easy as just showing up to a different building the next day and have probably never had to work a day in their lives. my company just removed bonuses for management and im losing 2K a year now. yeah I would just go to another company but finding a job with starting pay that's the same as my current salary would be almost impossible.

@@kiranolan7104 You have no idea how much a "bonus" actually functions as part of your annual income in many companies. At my organization that "bonus" is used to support the family in addition to the normal salary for the balance of the year. This year, thanks to Covid and related issues, my family will be on strict austerity for the next year.

If it really was a monetary bonus, Clark would have to use it to pay for all of the damage to his house, front yard, and his electric bill.

@thefanwithoutaface8105 9 жыл бұрын
+380PPK Pretty sure their insurance or the boss could cover the damage to the house given his boss was such an ass. As for the electric bill, well the bonus was much larger so that part could probably cover the bill.
