As much as I love Clark's rant in the first scene, one of the things I appreciated about the second scene where he confronts his boss is that while he doesn't mince words, he's speaking to him more respectfully than he was in his earlier rant to his family. He admitted that he took things too far, but was still justified in letting his boss know how he felt, and it literally paid off!

I can't complain. I got my xmas bonus this year. We are one of the few companies in the financial industry that made it safe through this year. We even managed to make profit. I used my xmas bonus to buy gifts for friends who have not been so lucky. Especially, two lovely children (girls, aged 5 and 6) will receive from me the toys they wished for. You can't let kids be without an xmas miracle in 2020. Not after this year.

At my organization that "bonus" is used to support the family in addition to the normal salary for the balance of the year. This year, thanks to Covid and related issues, my family will be on strict austerity for the next year.

Its Clark's rants that separate the good vacation movies (original and Christmas) from the bad ones (European and Vegas). The inside joke has always been that vacations are frequently more stressful than regular life, and Clark is the every man holding his dreams together by sheer force of willful insanity,

3:02 This is kinda serious. The holiday was overall stressful, sure, but that simple kick-in-the-ass for getting no bonus REALLY sent him over the edge. No wonder he finally decided to unmask himself at that point.
