As much as I love Clark's rant in the first scene, one of the things I appreciated about the second scene where he confronts his boss is that while he doesn't mince words, he's speaking to him more respectfully than he was in his earlier rant to his family. He admitted that he took things too far, but was still justified in letting his boss know how he felt, and it literally paid off!

I can't complain. I got my xmas bonus this year. We are one of the few companies in the financial industry that made it safe through this year. We even managed to make profit. I used my xmas bonus to buy gifts for friends who have not been so lucky. Especially, two lovely children (girls, aged 5 and 6) will receive from me the toys they wished for.
