@@nakermanca2056I haven't tried the ML mesa pack yet. I love this pack for the friedman amps though. I'm sure the mesa pack is great and matches well with the friedmans. I know real life mesa cabs are a great match for the 5153 amps too

Purchased last night. Killer 🙌🏽 Toss up between this and mesa OS. This just has a bit more presence (“life” TO MY EARS) and, in a mix is probably similar enough. Your IRs don’t have the honky midrange resonance that my Ownhammer Heavy Hitters do. Everything sounds better now. ty. - weekly gigging musician (function/wedding bands & guitar/vox sessions for producers via my home studio)

I play a Friedman cab on stage and now using the Captor X. Can i load this pack into the Captor and able to use the Captor mic placements or i have to choose from one of the mic placements in the pack? Thx!

That package turned my Friedman Preset on Axe FX 3 into pure overkill. The single mic IR's are already very good. With CabLab3 I was able to mix exactly what it sounded like in my head. The best IR's I generally used so far. I would appreciate a cab package for a 5150III 🤔😁

hi do you recommend any hi-cut and/or lo-cut settings with these when using say a helix for live? Also - would these be more suited for mix-ready tones or live too? I've found out that the native helix cabs require drastic hi/lo cuts (85hz-7.9khz) whereas things by ownhammer and some other are ok if u go (85hz-12khz) where anything lower than that is just too dark. thx for your input
@tonio33755 жыл бұрын
Don't put cuts on IRs. If the IR is good, it doesn't need any EQ.
@joeyvpoisonfree5 жыл бұрын
Toni'o you really don’t EQ IR’s? Or do you mean for live contexts?
@tonio33755 жыл бұрын
@@joeyvpoisonfree I don't EQ IRs. You don't need to. For example, one of these Freeman IRs won't ever need any EQ, and if it sounds harsh or dull, its most likely the other elements in your chain that are doing that. I used to hi/lo cut IRs. Then I tried it without, and was instantly able to get all my patches to cut through the mix correctly and to simply sound good. For live contexts, I would usually put some EQ however to darken up the sound a bit.

@ML Sound Lab Hey Mikko, me again bothering you with annoying questions abouts Mics! So I've seen that John Petrucci uses the SM7B, the Mohave 301 and the Royer 121 on Distance Over Time. If I wanted to recreate that mic combo with IRs, how would I go about it on the Helix? As far as I'm aware, I can't use 3 IRs in the Helix, or is there a way to do that? Or do you have a mix in one of your packs that somewhat resembles this mic combo? Thanks!
@mlsoundlab5 жыл бұрын
The KM184 + SM7B + R121 from the Mega Oversize pack is really close. :)

@@mlsoundlab Sweet! Which one is that? And do you have something similar for the Friedman? Because I love the Friedman just as much as the Mark IV :D

@@tonio3375 Sure! Our website: www.ml-sound-lab.com has both that Mesa and Friedman cab with those mic options. It's just replacing the Mojave with a Neumann mic.

Would this work well for clean amps like Fenders and CA3+... even JC120's??

I just recently purchased the freeman ir pack and I'm really having a hard time getting my tone anywhere close as the sound sample on the packs page. I bought them because the tone that I heard in the sample with using the 57 through v30s was exactly the tone i wanted. I know you used the AX FX to make you samples and I'm using helix lt but I can't imagine it would be thaaat different. I also know you just used the default settings with the freedman model as i also did. Im not sure if using the 1024 or 2048 is the reason maybe. I tried setting up my patch with all of the 57 tones as well, and none of them came close. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I tried sending a email through the website, but it did want to work for me.
