I saw it twice around 2003 to 2004. Back then I called it the "shadow stalker " by it's behavior and appearance. About 10 years after I found out a bunch of people had seen it (i googled shadow person in trench coat and fedora) A large portion of the stories matched mine pretty closely. It's only been very recent that this being has made it's way into wider popular culture though
