​@No need for introduction when Steve Spurrier arrived in 1990 at his Alma mater they became the new home jerseys with orange jerseys now the alternate plus they changed the stadium name to Ben Hill Griffin and ripped the astroturf replaced with grass and Spurrier Fun n Gun offense rewrote the SEC offensive records

Yes, the surface was astroturf for UF in 1989. They changed it to grass in either 90 or 91 if I recall.
