Fantastic playing!! I am going to save this video to my favourites, and when I want to take a slow blues lesson, I come and visit it again (and again, and again). Bravo!!!

My 2006 Gibson Les Paul came stock with BBPros. I haven´t found a single reason for changing them. Fantastic pickups. Still in love with them.

Great comparison and stellar playing, Thor! The guitar seems to sound much more lively with the BB pros, sweet, warm yet very articulate IMO. Not overly bright or hot. Seems like a perfect match for your guitar. Hope you keep enjoying it!

Thumbs up! I`m glad they work for you and they really sound better than in my LP`s...maybe the wood, maybe the tone pots, maybe the player 😉...I never quite managed to remove that "treblyness" on the bridge pickup, no matter how I tried lowering them and adjusting the pole screws. In comparison with your previous Classic 57, they seem definitively more articulate, clearer and with more girth when you turn the overdrive on, as already observed. That Epi now looks and sounds like a million dollar. Well done!

Hi Marcello, I guess our guitars are different both in wood type but also in finish (Poly vs Nitro) so that's probably one of the reasons for the different tone quality. The nut and bridge are most likely also of different qualities. I had a feeling these pickups might be a good match for my guitar, and quite happy you agreed to let me try it out 😊 Thanks!

The Burstbucker Pros have more oumph and sound a little smoother. They also sound higher output which you can hear when you step on the overdrive. A fatter yet very articulate sounding guitar Thor! Congrats !

Hi, I agree, and I think your observations align well with what I felt playing the guitar. Thanks 😊

One thing I like is that most people play Gibsons through a Marshall but going through a clean Fender just opens up so much more sonic territory. I still like the bite and reduced midrange from the first set of pickups but the BB Pros are exquisite.

Yes, the Classic 57s pair I have is sounding really good, and I bet I will find good use for them in future project. But I think these burstbuckers released some mojo in the guitar. Cheers!

hello i like what i hear. I liked the 57 classic. I would like to ask the pickup bridge is the 57 classic plus or just 57 classic?????
@GUITARSGIZMOSАй бұрын
Hi, thank you. I believe it's a pure classic 57 replica.

@GUITARSGIZMOS thanks for the reply. If you sell them I would be interested. the only problem is that I am from Greece and I will pay tax because Norway is outside the European Union.
@GUITARSGIZMOSАй бұрын
@@foufoutosnodas1456 I'm probably not gonna sell them. I also got some 57 classic replicas from Ali Express recently. They are not the same as the ones in this video, but I found them pretty good. I talk about them 12:43 out in this video about my Korean Epiphone SG (kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqecYqeDbcSNp7ssi=Ukn7tQ9N3flfB4Hr).

@GUITARSGIZMOS I heard them too. I liked them but not as much as the previous ones. anyway, you make your sound exactly the way i like it. sincerely. I really thank you for the ideas you have given me. keep it up

I had 57 Classics in an Epiphone Les Paul 60s Tribute Plus. Always thought they were really good. Until i got a Wildwood Select Gibson 50s Standard, with its underwound '59 spec tribute humbuckers. I think i preferred those Wildwood pickups, which were just slightly modded from whatever Gibson traditionally uses in that Standard. In between, i put a set of Bare Knuckle Mules in a PRS SE 594, and i may prefer them to what is in the Gibson Les Paul. But, more recently, i got a '61 SG which has Burstbucker Pros, and i absolutely love that guitar with those pickups. Lots of very subtly different 'flavors,' but it definitely inspires the playing when you do find those nuances and have your hands on the gear that you think is right for you. Some beautiful playing, sir. I wish i could achieve that level, but i have neither the dedication, aptitude, or memory, unfortunately. Actually, i think if i had the latter two characteristics, it might be easier to find the dedication, but it's too late for excuses!

I love your guitar too Thor! Your playing is always top notch and so musical. I thought clean they were both good but the Pro's thru that Honey Drive took on a whole new voice! Much clearer and focused especially in the middle position. That is a great guitar and it looks great on film!

Hi Brian, thanks for watching and for leaving such kind words on my playing. I think you describe what I also heard in the room from the pickups. And I totally agree about the looks of the guitar 😊 PS! I just ordered "Black Elk speaks" from audible. Still not done with your book, but as you see, it has inspired me to a new journey. Thanks my friend.

I have a Gibson Es-335 with 57 Classics and an R9 Les Paul with custom buckers. I’ve never had bb pros. But I surely feel stupid for selling my bolt-on Korean epiphone Les Paul standard. I would probably have burstbuckers in it. I love them.

I’d like to have heard these pickups-both sets- absolutely clean without overdrive in between guitar and amp. But sounds good though.
@GUITARSGIZMOS6 ай бұрын
Hmm, the first half of the sequences of me playing the two sets is done clean with no drive/gain pedals engaged. Perhaps you find character of the Princeton Reverb to sound overdriven? Cheers!

I've had Classic 57s and BB Pro's and didn't like either. Both sound nothing like an original PAF humbucker.
@GUITARSGIZMOS17 күн бұрын
I'm actually having a set of PAF spec humbuckers made for this guitar as we speak. It comes as a result of what you describe. I would like to think there's a potential for a more vintage sound coming from the guitar. All the best.
