Well done you I had to take my heated screen out and saved the rubbers I used 2mm plastic shims and about 30 placed all around the apiture to keep even pressure on the glass . I'm looking forward to seeing all the work that your doing .. regards Steph from Alvechurch UK.

it's only £30 odd for a new rubber - nice and supple to put the screen back in - I did check before cutting!

Mike, when you get a project like this, do you quote an estimate of the cost once you've seen the car? If so, how? Or do you get carte blanche from the client to spend whatever it takes up to a certain limit? How do you avoid end up spending more time than estimated and not being compensated? Might be a video topic in itself someday... cheers from Ireland!

Ok I have a regular hours rate, but if it is long term job over 8 hrs per day and 3 days, then I knock 40% off, billed at the end of each week normally - no pay, no work And this is where YT comes in and why I post so much stuff! Customers can see the issues I have and I honestly charge for my time ( naturally I edit the YT videos but it can drag on!) When I get big projects like the 90 or this RR it is an 'open cheque' job - there is no way I can do custom work on an estimate - no two cars are the same Parts are paid for in advance and I only order what is needed for the current period - not 6 months in advance as I never know what is going to be needed It is bloody complicated but I have been bitten so many times by customers changing their minds midway through a project - and then undo everything I have done I.e building a 110 from scratch then once the chassis /body is done - they then tell me they would like to upgrade to stainless bolts not zinc plated - hence no flat rate Hope this helps Mike

The smart move would be to do what the UK defence industry does and have 'cost plus' contracts ;) (joke)
