Classic Cars in Movies - Citroën Traction Avant

The Citroën Traction Avant was a very innovative car produced from 1934 to 1957. The car is a real movie star as it appears in many movies. Traction Avant, which translates as "front wheel drive," is not the official name. Like the 2CV the car was named according to the French fiscal horsepower rating, or CV. Official names are Citroën 7CV, Citroën 11CV and Citroën 15CV. In this video you can watch them all in movies through the ages. Enjoy!

My grand father gave this car to my father when he left the house, in the early Sixties, he’d had it since the late ‘40s. In 1977 we were still using it as the holiday car, that same summer we went down South and came back from our holidays, the car brought us to our house’s entrance and died right there. It had stayed around 30 years in the family.

Thank you, really nice to see. In the 1960s we owned two Light 15s, a 1950 and a 1951 with only around 100,000kms - both were British assembled with leather upholstry and a wooden dashboard.

The Traction at 4:06 is a BL when seen from the front but the rear view after knocking that guy off the scooter is a 15/6.

There is a french movie, or series,where the father brings his son to a boarding school, at night, they have to sons,one who goes to daytime boarding school , and the other son who gets to stay full time in the boarding school, they have a black Citroen, sorry I don*t know the name of the series or movie.
