CLASSIC DOUBLE-DECKER CLUB SANDWICH

Ingredients for 1 sandwich...double, triple or more ingredients for more sandwiches
3 slices of bread, lightly toasted
crisp lettuce
tomato, sliced
1-2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2-4 slices bacon, crispy
4-6 turkey slices
fresh cracked pepper to taste
To assemble sandwich...
Add some mayonnaise to one side of a slice of toasted bread, add lettuce, a slice of tomato. bacon slices and 3 thinly slices of turkey (more or less depending on size of turkey slices). Add freshly cracked pepper.
Add a thin layer of mayonnaise to another slice of toasted bread. Add mayonnaise side to turkey. Add mayonnaise to another side of toasted bread. Add lettuce, tomato and remaining turkey slices. Add mayonnaise to one side of the last slice of toasted bread...add mayonnaise side to top of turkey.
Using a serrated knife cut sandwich, diagonally into 4 triangular pieces. Each triangular section should be secured in the center with a pick or sword.
Serve with potato salad, cole slaw, potato chips, pickles, fruit etc...

Love Club sands, never really made them at home, usually restaurant bought or when i worked in a restaurant after school as a dishwasher, we'd have the right to one meal, and although the Clubs we had to pay half price vs. a free burger or fried chicken, i always preferred the Club Sandwich! Greetings to you in East Asia, bunches of thanks & you're very welcome...James. To answer your questions...I use dishwashing soap & warm water to clean all my food & board surfaces. I clean my lettuce under cool running tap water, shake it, dry with clean paper towels, and wrap in damp paper towels to store in refrigerator until ready to use. Bad start with toast sitting getting cold. Get everything else ready and then toast your bread and race to assemble. Warm toast is essential in my opinion.

But, doesn't the mayo melt into the bread? It soaks in and when I'm ready to eat the inside is partly soggy. Cold toast is blah, so I know what you're saying. Could be there's just no happy medium.

The "American Way" drinks that I can think of are Coca Cola (any carbonated drink over ice), ice tea (sweetened or unsweetened), any flavor of milkshake, milk, and/or any flavor beer!!
