Thank you so much Fung Bros for teaching me how to order Dimsum in Mandarin. I took notes and I read them when ordering in legit Chinese Dimsum places in NYC. I noticed, the waiters understand me better and I get better service. They appreciate that I try to say it in their language. Xièxiè xiōngdìmen! 😊

Hello FB, thank you for bringing your viewers to this tea parlor. Used to be Cha Chan Theng. Meaning I think they close when is food is all sold and open early. Have never been in but know that it was. The plates look great and the menu makes it look made for order, is it? Instead of the cart or tray serving. Sidenote: Like the right wristwatch on Mr. Tang. Elle for baked bao

I live in San Diego and my other half and myself along with our extended family eat DimSum at least once every couple of months. It is actually one of my favorite meals. What I don't see on your table is the Chicken Feet or the Calimari, but I have eaten every one of those you do have on your table. But a word of advice to those watching this video and also reading the comments; Always go with a crowd of at least five or six because any less and the variety you get is constrained by how much you can eat. With a large group you can have a much larger variety to chose from, and there are many many different dishes. We have also eaten at the famous Dim Sum restaurant in the middle of the China-Town market in Honolulu. Great place to eat, but it is small and they serve a make-to-order meal, so it may take a little longer than those who have it all made ahead of time like some of the large DimSum restaurants in San Diego. Great video boys, it's made me hungry.

@Dymanx8 жыл бұрын
No they taste very different from the Cantonese buns, which aren't sold at the usual supermarket. If you want try the Char sui pao you can get them from dim sum restaurants or at the 'toko' (Amazing Oriental).
@BrandonKoops8 жыл бұрын
Dope! Thanks for the expertise here!
@liongkienfai1048 жыл бұрын
The Netherlands got their bakpao from Indonesia instead of straight from China. The word bakpao itself comes from the Hokkien Chinese words Bak meaning meat and Pao meaning bun. The word bakpao is an umbrella term that can be applied to all Chinese meat buns including the Cantonese meat buns shown in this video. However, because there are many types of paos, the bakpao you find in the Netherlands will most likely have come from the bakpao sold on Indonesian street carts/vendors. This usually means non-pork filled to appeal to Indonesia's Muslim population, but "purer" versions of bakpao like the Cantonese pork buns in the video can also be found in the archipelago nation. Sorry if I made it more difficult to understand, but just ask if you have any questions. TL;DR = The Cantonese meat buns in the video can be also be referred to as bakpao, but the ones you find in the Netherlands are probably a different type of bakpao
