Its only when you watch it condensed down like this that you recall just how much hard work went into that car. Financially it was for nothing but physically it was defintely draining.

@@SimpsonsClassics Yeah I keep saying this is my car but to be honest I'm being an arse because I could never offer enough money to justify the hours of toil and effort thats gone into it. It's been well worth the effort though because its a gorgeous example of the Mini Clubman.

Amazing work, you should be very proud of yourself. The panels alone for my shell came to around £900 and that was using mainly m-machine when you're mostly stuck with Heritage for a clubby! Any idea how many hours you spent on the welding?
@SimpsonsClassics3 жыл бұрын
Cheers thanks buddy for that. Yes for what we have spent and what we have got out of it yes it’s been a mad journey. I can’t narrow down just the welding time but the overall time of the cars she’ll work was 248 hours all in over about 10-11 months

Hey Marc, you mentioned in one of your vids that you use a DeVilbiss finishline FLG5 spray gun. I was wondering what size jet you use. They seem to sell these guns with a variety of options including 1.3mm, 1.4mm, 1.6mm and 1.8mm etc. Would appreciate your wisdom on this.

I delivered thousands and thousands of these new from the factory , as the years went bye the quality got worse (it never was good to start with , but it declined ) just before production e did, a huge order came in from Japan, it kept me busy taking them to Portbury docks , the metal was so thin that the body creaked when they were moving , ....terrible that they got away building these for so long
@SimpsonsClassics9 ай бұрын
The quality definitely got worse the later in production they got. But the fun part about restoring them is you can right those wrongs. Thanks for watching 👍

Guarantee it will rust again within 2-3 years, but good effort
