As an American, I grew up with potato salad. My mom always made it for big family get togethers. It is part of our culture. Most of the time, it is mustard based here in the USA. I will have to try this one out at our next get-together. This looks great!

Glad to see another recipe that uses yoghurt to replace some of the mayonnaise. I started using Greek yoghurt several years back in my potato salad as well as in other dishes. For me, it's to cut back on the amount of fat in my diet. Looks like a tasty recipe.

I love every recipe I’ve tried on your channel! But wanted to comment re the bits left in the garlic press…another good use…I drop them in a jar of water kept in fridge, the strain and dilute to make a good garden bug spray…I think it tricks the bugs (maybe rabbits?) into eating elsewhere. Since finding your channel I have had lots of garlic bits thanks to your great recipes.

Potato salad is one of the summer’s most prized comfort foods here in the USA. And the variations are endless! Always a must for me is mayo with mustard and vinegar dressing, onions and celery. But it changes depending on the mood- sometimes I add boiled eggs, sometimes thawed, frozen peas- for a little pop! Sometimes I leave the skin on. Sometimes I add green olives, or black olives, or even some avocado…. But for me, NEVER sweet pickle relish or gherkins! Potato salad is on my top ten favorite foods!

Mmm! Potato salad (& egg salad) are so nice as a side or main on a hot day. I'm surprised you're peeling new/young potatoes at all though!? So much flavour, fibre & vitamins in the skin, always a shame to waste it. Also for a treat you can make potato salad from cold roast potatoes, the extra crispy-crunch from the roasties is very tasty, an ex of mine used to make Bombay potato salad too, those spices through them were extra nice. Nice to see everyone tucking in & enjoying themselves at the end, food always tastes better when shared.

OK. When you boil your potatoes, add the juice & peel of ½ a washed, unwaxed lemon or 1 tablespoon of white vinegar. Acidulants in the lemon (citric) or in the vinegar, (ascetic) will keep your potatoes from breaking.
