The Bonneville is an iconic British bike, my last Bonnie was a 1977 Silver Jubilee T140, built when the Triumph factory at Meriden was a workers co-operative. The new Bonnevilles are doing a hell of a job carrying on the Bonneville name!

Good morning Fuzzy, thanks for the walk around on the 68. I had one many years ago, and sadly I sold it. One of a couple bikes that I regret parting with.

You're welcome. Some story here, I had a 67 that I let go. That 68 is nifty. Wahoo!

The beauty of these classics is how well you can see thru them. All that clear space. The open gaps, maybe a better way to put it. Thanks for the walk around.

Love the 60's Triumphs. I don't think the 68 Bonneville would have had a 6v battery. Pretty sure they changed to 12v in 1966. As far as the modern regulator, they probably meant it has modern regulator/rectifier like the Podtronics or Tympanium unit that would replace the old school rectifier and zener diode. It's a common upgrade on these bikes. Going to the Smith's gauges guy's shop would be cool to see.

Thanks for this note. I'm sure you're correct about that battery. I'll have to contact Smithswerk.com and see if we can do the tour. Was there once a few years ago. Interesting place, nice fellow. Wahoo!

I had a 67 with the same front brake. I'm told by the shop that it is a 68. Personally, I don't know enough about these to call it myself. Beautiful bike. Wahoo!
