There's a Big Finish audio story where the Sixth Doctor literally becomes a mythical figure (called the Sandman) in a reptilian society who supposedly kills anyone who looks upon him. His coat physically hurts their eyes, which helps him keep up the act. It's a pretty great story where we get to see a very dark exploration of just how far the Doctor is willing to go to achieve an end.

Colin Baker reportedly hated his costume. He said that the only advantage he had was that he was on the inside and rarely had to look at himself wearing it. Despite this, when he's looking in the mirror, he shows the satisfaction of a man who sees himself as the epitome of style and good taste. Furthermore, throughout the rest of his time on the show, he swaggered around as though he felt completely comfortable wearing it. Considering Colin's real life distain for the costume, the fact that he could pull that off shows that he's one of the greatest actors who's ever played the Doctor. If his era hadn't been sabotaged by shitstains like Michael Grade, he would be a very strong contender for the title of Greatest Doctor Of All Time.

It's interesting to consider that the 5th Doctor is the result of The Doctor regenerating under his own ability for only the SECOND time and the first time he ever did so outside the TARDIS or Gallifrey itself. Two was executed by the Time Lords and had his Third body chosen for him. Three was too damaged from radiation poisoning to survive the process save for the convenient appearance of his old Time Lord mentor, Kanto (who "pushed" the process for him to get it started). So, Four to Five was the first time since Hartnell that he was regenerating under his own power. And the very first time doing so outside the mysterious healing properties of the TARDIS interior. I think both of these factors is why he was fragile like a baby-deer for a while afterwards, learning to walk again so to speak. Then of course, as we know, he later gets drunk off Spectrox Toximia and births the magnificent Sixth Doctor...

Just look at how self-satisfied he was when he looked in the mirror. That must have been the hardest thing for Colin Baker to pull off because he hated looking at himself in the costume but he still managed to look like he thought he was the epitome of style and good taste. I personally always used to think the Doctor looked better in the prev Doctor’s clothes, idk why. Now I’ve seen Classic, I’m less sure- - never got to see 2 dressed as 1 - 3 looked cooler in The Jacket (TM) than when he was dressed like 2 - 4 looks utterly iconic in his own outfit and you just can’t top that I’m afraid, lol - 5… yeah, I will say he looked kinda adorable dressed like 4 - *Anything is better than the Coat Of Doom* - 7 somehow wears it better than 6 did - never got to see 8 dressed as 7 - never got to see 9 dressed as 8 (or War) - 10 looked all cute and pint-sized in 9’s clothes bc they were too big for him; it’s adorable and I stand by that - 11 kind of rocked the natty, badly-fitting 10 look - I genuinely can’t remember seeing 12 dressed as 11 - 13 looked oddly cool in the 12 outfit change my mind And after that my mind’s a blank

A lot of people post old stories on Dailymotion, and Pluto TV is a completely free app with a dedicated Classic Doctor Who channel showing stories 24/7. My personal favorite story is Caves of the Adrozani. It's certainly a slower show, but if you like deliberately paced old-school sci-fi, a lot of the stories from Classic Who are going to be right up your alley.
