This Doctor (the Eighth) also said in his book series, "everything is magic until you know how it is done" I took my avatar name from one of his troublesome companions he nicknamed 'compassion'. She didn't have any, and would just as soon kill you as say "good day". She eventually turned into the first living, breathing TARDIS, Type 102 sentient...and the Doctor and then companion Fitz rode around inside of her for several books of adventure. Lawrence Miles did a wonderful job inventing her, and many other authors took the story forward

They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering." - Fourth Doctor (The Face of Evil) "Dreams are important...never underestimate them." - Fifth Doctor (Snakedance) "Planets come and go. Stars perish. Matter disperses, coalesces, forms into other patterns, other worlds. Nothing can be eternal." - Sixth Doctor (The Mysterious Planet) "Every great decision creates ripples. Like a huge boulder dropping in a lake. The ripples merge and rebound off the banks in unforseeable ways. The heavier the decision, the larger the waves, the more uncertain the consequences." - Seventh Doctor (Remembrance of the Daleks) "Anything's possible." - Eighth Doctor (Doctor Who) “Great men are forged in fire. It is the privilege of lesser men to light the flame.” - War Doctor (The Day of the Doctor) "You lot, you spend all your time thinking about dying, like you're gonna get killed by eggs, or beef, or global warming or asteroids. But you never take time to imagine the impossible - like maybe you survive." - Ninth Doctor (The End of the World) “Some people live more in 20 years than others do in 80. It’s not the time that matters, it’s the person.” - Tenth Doctor (The Lazarus Experiment) “In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important.” - Eleventh Doctor (A Christmas Carol) "Pain is a gift. Without the capacity for pain, we can't feel the hurt we inflict." - Twelfth Doctor (Death in Heaven)

Four because he virtually laid the groundwork for every later portrayal of the Doctor by longevity alone, Five because of his influence on Ten's portrayal, and Seven for the simple fact that his serials were closest in writing and presentation style to that of the New Series, particularly from "Remembrance of the Daleks" onwards.

He's a time traveller; probably HE doesn't know how old he is
@philadelphiawhovian56417 жыл бұрын
I wish that would work, but to act like he wouldn't know his age was that off when he stated it before, and many years have past, that's too much not being accurate. also in the past, whenever the doctor didn't know his age perfectly, the writers always made sure to have someone correct it for him so that the audience knew the correct age. for example, in The Ribos Operation, when the doctor mentioned his age, romana reminded him of his true age and how he was off by a couple of years. if ur gonna state an incorrect age, for the sake of the audience knowing the truth, you have to have to have the true age presented elsewhere somewhere, or else that false data u gave off will appear as truth. as writers, we're taught that if u give a lie/error and never let the audience know that it is a lie eventually is bad writing, bc now that audience will think it is fact and will state it as such. also in between the fourth doctor and the sixth doctor, he had aged over 100 years, and that was where there was only 1 incarnation in between them. again how would he think three years have only gone by with four doctors in between him and the sixth doctor? and this is confirmed fact, bc when he states that he's 900 years old in the trial of a timelord, none of the timelords correct him the way that romana has to-- so six was accurate, even when he was suffering from post-regeneration shock. ten is not suffering from that. also yes, time does work differently in the tardis, but he is aware of the time relativity, and always has been. therefore, for ten to state his age as fact, when ur excuse of 'he probably doesn't know his age', doesn't really work, bc whenever u present such a solid statement like ur age, and its wrong, then u allow it to appear as fact and don't bring anything forward to show the truth of it, then it becomes truth to everyone who watches it, and it's not in fact that at all. bc ten says he's 903 yrs old, unless someone watches classic who, they will believe that he is. when RTD was just not correct, or presented an intentional error in the wrong way. also, when it comes to important continuity, like the doctor's age, its good to know if the doctor is accurate or not in the grand scheme of things, or u can fudge what happens along his timeline and where. these are just my findings based on all the doctor who that I've seen. if u have any evidence telling me that he really is 903 in voyage of the damned, then i shall be happy to agree with u. in truth, it seemed like the doctor's age didn't start becoming more sensible again until the moffat era, when he was around a thousand years old in series 6, around 1200 years old in series 7 and then eventually he admitted that he couldn't remember his age by day of the doctor. if u lose track of ur age, fine, but it has to be admitted eventually. I respect ur thought, but I can't agree with it. if he's wrong about his age when he's ten, then it must be indicated that he is off, or the error comes across as if the writers didn't research things properly. peace :)

My favorite line of modern Doctor Who is from "The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe" where the Doctor says a few of his alternate names, including "Get off this planet". XD I'd include a lot more Matt myself, but I know everyone has preferences.
