I had a 82 IT250. First bike I ever completely rebuilt. I had the center case apart and my wife said it would never run again. After I got it running I rolled it up just outside the bathroom window at about 5am. Fired that bad boy up and my wife came right outside to yell at me. I just said never run again my ass. 😂

I had a IT 175 that mentally abused me after a 4th gear wheely walk that flipped me over down the rode and it flipped few times more as I was slidding down the dirt road on my back watching it somersault in front of me to end. Powerband flipped me. Those ITs are crazy strong! Thats a bad azz IT250! Im a honda guy in heart with the IT yamaha as exception! And also suzuki 1978 rm 80. lol Great rebuild guys!!!!
@rabbithomesteading37973 күн бұрын
oh also my it175 was called skeeter killer. Cuz the crank seal was bad and suck gearbox oil and smoke bad. So after a few laps around the field it was a smoke haze. Had to keep it high rpms or it would bog out. lol

I got given a IT175 back in the 90s that the guy couldnt get to run after years of trying to get it running. It was mint but wouldnt start. Put a plug an air filter in it an my uncle pulled me on it for at least a mile an right as we were about to pull in the driveway it started. He then tuned it up an ran fine for a year till my sister wanted to ride it an she put straight gas with no oil in it an blow it up.

The blue and yellow Yamahas and I have a 45 year history, some of the best enduro bikes ever to burn premix. Not the best at any one thing but great across the board. I’d never make any $ doing what Ken does because I could never let them go.
@robvanduren7612 күн бұрын
Would you become a hoarder. I would to. My weakness is the early huskies up to about 1987.
@deborahchesser73752 күн бұрын
@ heck yes I would but at least the things we hoard are useful because we can ride them. Unlike baskets or something silly lol. I love Husky to, the 79’ WR390 is one of my faves because Dick Burleson raced them. He used me and my little IT175 for traction in the 79’ Baby Burr here in Ohio, I was honored. Yeh I could never have enough bikes, a warehouse full would be great.

Yeah it would. DT are cool but this motor is close to the YZ motor as he said. DT mellower powerband.
@captainaxle4382 күн бұрын
@gregbishop3167 I believe it
@sam-68-5612 сағат бұрын
@@gregbishop3167 the main difference between the YZ and IT in the motor is the IT has a flywheel/ magneto to power the headlight & tail light. The YZ uses a rotor only to generate ignition/spark. I own a 1977 IT 400 owned since 1992. On 2nd oversize piston and still goes like hell!!
