@@michael.1517 Aber weder Leopard noch M60 waren für ein Schlachtfeld mit T-34/85 vorgesehen. Bereits mit der Einführung dieser Fahrzeuge Anfang / Mitte der 60er war der Gegner gegen den sie konzipiert waren T54, T55 und der T62 und das en masse. Letzterer war mit Glattrohrkanone bereits für Hochgeschwindigkeitsgeschosse vorgesehen, deren Durchschlagsleistung auch durch den "hervorragenden" Schutz des M60 durchkam. Zudem war relativ klar, das der Westen nicht alle paar Jahre neue Kampfpanzer herstellen würde. Klar, man hat vielleicht nicht erwartet diese Fahrzeuge für 30 Jahre an die Front stellen zu müssen. Wohl aber für die nächsten 15 Jahren. Und immer wäre es darum gegangen es mit einem zahlenmäßig mindestens 3:1 überlegenen Gegner aufzunehmen. Weiterhin sollte man die Schlachterfahrung des 2. WK nicht vergessen. Theoretisch waren da immer mal Fahrzeuge die eine für gegnerische Panzer kaum zu knackende Frontpanzerung hatten. Schon zum Beginn des 2. WK in Russland hatten dieses mehr T34 als die Wehrmacht überhaupt an "echten" Panzern aufbieten konnte. Und gleichzeitig konnten deren echte Panzer die Front des T34 kaum brechen. Kriege werden nicht mit Frontpanzerung sondern mit verbundenen Waffen geführt... Auch zeigten Kriege immer wieder, dass die meisten Kämpfe in viel kürzeren Distanzen gekämpft wird als die Papierstrategen annahmen. Und gerade die Hauptwaffe, die Infanterie ist im Krieg quasi überall und hatte seit dem 2. Weltkrieg enorm aufgerüstet was ihrer Panzerbekämpfungsfähigkeiten angeht. Insbesondere deren Mobilität.
